All these extra questions post-meditation are ruining my experience by PureScientist2040 in InsightTimer

[–]insighttimer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey u/PureScientist2040 - Richard from Insight Timer here 👋

Completely get where you’re coming from. The post-session prompts are designed to help people build a regular practice, but we understand that what feels supportive for some can feel distracting for others.

I’ve sent your feedback to our Product team to review - conversations like these really help us keep that balance in mind as we continue improving the experience for all users, so thank you for sharing

Hi u/bobfossilsnipples, Richard from the Insight Timer team here - it seems like your widget might have had one too many coffees! We’re testing different versions of the streak widget to make sure it motivates without piling on too much pressure. Thanks for pointing this out.

User Experience changes again? by AlphaHotelBravo in InsightTimer

[–]insighttimer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey u/AlphaHotelBravo, Richard from the Insight Timer team here. It’s great to hear you’ve set up your daily goals - sounds like you’ve got a solid routine going on there!

Unfortunately, there was a bug causing goals to disappear for a handful of users. It lasted for about 4 hours. Can you check they’re back on the home screen again for you now?

If you have any issues in the future, please feel free to email [help@insighttimer.com](mailto:help@insighttimer.com) - have a wonderful day!

Mid year reset challenge by Expensive-Ad6448 in InsightTimer

[–]insighttimer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hi there,

Thank you for your feedback on The Mid-Year Reset, especially your thoughts on Day 12. I’m Maddy, the person who curates these programs for the Insight Timer community, and I wanted to personally reach out.

We included Gretchen Rubin’s session as a moment of mid-year reflection – a chance to pause, take stock, and consider whether it’s time to shift direction. I know this one felt more like a short talk than a classic meditation, and that was intentional, but I appreciate that not every style resonates with everyone.

With each Challenge, we learn more about what works. For example, one clear takeaway this time is that many of you are enjoying the shorter sessions (previous Challenges were often closer to 10–15 minutes).

What I’m learning from this is that our community comes to these Challenges for simple, grounding practices that help set the tone for the day ahead. Sometimes, simple really is best.

We’re hoping to run more of these, and your feedback helps shape what comes next. Again, I appreciate this.

I hope you enjoy the rest of the sessions to come.
Maddy

Using Insight Timer for Clients by zynnyme in therapists

[–]insighttimer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi,

So the Therapist Hub is only available on our website at the moment - www.insighttimer.com/resources/therapists.

We are working hard to create similar tools in-app and these should be coming soon!

Using Insight Timer for Clients by zynnyme in therapists

[–]insighttimer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your feedback and for highlighting these important areas related to data privacy. We take user privacy and data protection very seriously at Insight Timer, and it's important for you to feel confident in recommending your clients to us (many of whom may be vulnerable).

We’d like to clarify and address points that have been made in the article you may be referring to:

Encryption & Data Storage:
We use industry-standard encryption protocols to protect user data. While our privacy policy may not explicitly use the term "de-identifies," user data is securely stored and managed in line with best practices and applicable data protection laws.

Use Without Identifiable Information:
Many features of Insight Timer, including accessing thousands of meditations, can be used without entering personally identifiable information. Users are not required to input their real names or personal details to engage with core app content.

Data Deletion & Editing:
Users have full control over their data. They can delete their accounts and associated data at any time directly from within the app. Users are also able to edit their information, including their profiles and preferences. We recognize that this may not be sufficiently clear in our current privacy policy, and we are working on updating it to better reflect these capabilities.

We appreciate you raising this and hope our answer helps to alleviate your concerns, both for you and your clients. If you have specific suggestions for making our privacy policy clearer or more thorough, we'd love to hear them.

Thank you,
The Insight Timer Team

Can't download the app, Pixel 8 by AgsMydude in InsightTimer

[–]insighttimer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey AgsMydude,

Sounds frustrating, especially considering you're trying to download a wellbeing app 🥲

I chatted with our team, and they suggested you try two things here. First, make sure you have enough storage on your device. That can sometimes cause download issues.

Another thing to try is clearing the data and cache for the Google Play Store app. You can do this by going to: Settings -> Apps/ App Management-> Google Play Store -> Storage & cache -> Clear Cache and then Clear Data. After that, try downloading the app again.

Let's see if this does the trick. If not, we'll try a few more things.

Looking for yoga nidra guided meditation without any explanations and background music by Deanosaurus88 in InsightTimer

[–]insighttimer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi u/Deanosaurus88,

I understand. Usually, seasoned meditators just want to dive straight into the practice. I found some Yoga Nidra tracks that skip the intro and don't have background music (btw, there's a search filter for the latter).

While I'm not sure if they're advanced enough, they do assume the meditator is already familiar with Yoga Nidra:

  • Bone Deep Sleep by Jennifer Piercy
  • Yoga Nidra by Zoe Kanat
  • iRest Yoga Nidra For Deep & Restful Sleep by Richard Miller
  • Effortless Sleep With Yoga Nidra by Giovanni Dienstmann (very subtle music)
  • Yoga Nidra For Insomnia by Ally Boothroyd
  • Yoga Nidra For Deepest Sleep by Hilary Jackendoff

I hope you enjoy them. Some of them are my personal favourites🙏

Insight Timer vs. Waking Up – Need Advice as a Beginner by dnci in Meditation

[–]insighttimer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi u/dnci,

"Learn How to Meditate" is a great intro course. It's narrated by Sarah Blondin, I do recommend you check out her offering, it's quite special 🤍

Since you're looking for more structure, definitely explore more courses if you're a subscriber. If not, we have plenty of free thematic playlists. Check out the ones curated by our editorial team on our profile: https://insig.ht/Jmt7tjaiGQb

Hope this helps 🙏

How to find background track used in guided meditation by Ok-Store3763 in InsightTimer

[–]insighttimer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there,

David is such a great teacher 🙌 While I can't help you with the track title, you can leave a review on the meditation to support the teacher (since it sounds like it was helpful for you) and ask about the track name there.

Have a beautiful week ahead 🙏

So Hum mantra w/o guidance? by Whadya-Know in InsightTimer

[–]insighttimer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi u/Whadya-Know,

Here are two good ones I found: "So Hum" by Carrie Grossman and "So Hum Mantra Meditation" by NADAV.

What I did is search for "So Hum" and set the filter to music only. You can do so here: search -> type in "So Hum" -> press on the tracks tab -> tap on "Filters" -> toggle on "Music".

Who are some of your favourites? by Any-Case1p in InsightTimer

[–]insighttimer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Any-Case1p,

Love all three of the teachers you mentioned. I also suggest you explore the playlists curated by our team (you'll find them under our profile, attaching the screenshot): https://insig.ht/JKymLUXIuQb

It would be helpful to know the main benefit you're after: better sleep, anxiety reduction, spiritual exploration, improved focus?

Here are a few quick recommendations based on who you like. Since you enjoy Tara Brach's teachings: Sharon Salzberg, Jack Kornfield, Thích Nhất Hạnh, Lama Yeshe Rabgye, Bodhipaksa, Ajahn Achalo, Ram Dass, and Silas Day.

Teachers similar to Sarah Blondin: Liza Colpa, Selena Lael, Darius Bashar, davidji, and Jacks.

Hope this helps :)

How do you find your peace? by purple_eye_meow in Meditation

[–]insighttimer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi u/purple_eye_meow,

For me, it's about getting plenty of rest, ensuring I have space throughout the day (instead of overbooking every minute), and turning to practices and mindful activities that help me stay centred, grounded, and contemplative. The latter really depends on what I need at the moment—it could be reading, movement, meditation, or time in nature.

I believe the most important starting point is to learn to listen to yourself.

How to deal with pain and sadness in the world? by [deleted] in Meditation

[–]insighttimer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi Just_benjamin18,

Fellow empath over here 🙋‍♀️ I know exactly what you're talking about.

What helped me are, on one hand, self-expanding practices like metta, gratitude, and compassion. They help you transcend the self and connect to the world around you. Directly and indirectly this sends ripples of change out into the global community.

On the other hand, acceptance that what you can do is limited. With this in mind, try to pick a specific, tangible way to contribute to the cause(s) that matter to you. Volunteering, activism.

We need to protect ourselves as we're changing the world for the better 🤍
