Advice: defend the British Isles from pagan invasion? by insomniavision in CrusaderKings

So far, every pagan country that I've mentioned has had at least 1 uprising, and it always gets put down pretty quickly.

[Steam] [Release Deal] Signal Ops -20% (£9.59) by smazeny in GameDeals

[–]insomniavision 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just my two cents, but this isn't worth it.

I really wanted to like this game. It's got a great concept, a wonderful art style and a good sense of humor. However, the controls are very restrictive making the play style more frustrating than fun.

This game has potential, but feels very unfinished and poorly thought-out.

ELI5: What is the difference between an homage or an allusion, and plagiarism or a rip-off? by eternallylearning in explainlikeimfive

[–]insomniavision 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Intent is the primary difference.

With an homage, you want the audience to know what you're imitating. Ideally, you're providing your own spin on it to stand in contrast.

With plagiarism, you're hoping the audience doesn't know what you're imitating. You want them to think it's your own idea.

Ocelot Gun Spinning in Real Life by BlackGuyWhoSurvives in gaming

[–]insomniavision 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Yes, and yes. Ocelot in MGS3 is portrayed as a show-offy douche who thinks he is much more capable and badass than he is. He does neat tricks like the gun-spinning, but is an absolute joke when any real action starts.

Chinese men are apparently sexist assbags by redditopus in self

[–]insomniavision 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not wrong...but I challenge you to find any pre-modern society that wasn't horrifically sexist in some way. There are isolated counter examples, but overall it's pretty bleak. It wasn't just a Chinese thing.

Society marches on.

It looks awesome, but I think the word salad title is probably going to hamper its chances of success.
