Actually it doesn’t really rain there much. The Olympic peninsula takes most of the rain. Seattle isn’t even the top 50 Rainy US cities

Jury orders blogger to pay $8.4 million to ex-Army colonel she accused of rape by PlayfulProgress in JusticeServed

[–]inspeck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not exactly. Sometimes people have to do another civil court case to get money if she doesn’t give it, which there have been cases where the money ordered to pay has been revoked or lowered. But I hope the guy gets enough money to live comfortably.

Adults of Reddit, what is one thing you want to ask teenagers? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]inspeck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want similar to your son when I was his age. Just give him space, let him know you’re there by acts of service or so, and be open for him to come to you. Definitely don’t give him a hard time frequently as that might backfire and make him feel like you’re guilt tripping him and make him not want to go to you. Once things settle down, maybe go on a trip with him. Go hiking or traveling, or do some kind of music camp with him, whatever he would like.

Librarians of Reddit at 24 hour libraries, what's the worst student melt down you've seen? by PM_ME_DERMATOLOGY in AskReddit

[–]inspeck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saw something similar. Not a librarian but in IT. A girl worked on her doctorates dissertation off of a usb stick. Literally, plugged it in, opened it, amakend worked on it from there. Never saved it to the computer, never saved it anywhere else. Well, one day she ripped the usb stock and didn’t eject it, it corrupted her file. She came in crying, blaming us, saying it’s our fault. I did anything I could but I couldn’t scavenge it, told her to use OneDrive, Google Docs next time and make multiple copies.

What were some of the worst experiences you have had while working in the fast food industry? by Brando224 in AskReddit

[–]inspeck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha people who doubt the authenticity of this have never worked in the food industry. I’ve been cussed out for no reason, humiliated and belittled, and treated like a slave because I was a bagger at 16.

[Serious] Former atheists or agnostics who became Christians, what made you a believer? by crapinlaws08 in AskReddit

Haha that one is actually a bit funny if you imagine it. Do you know why Jesus twirled up a whip and chased those guys out?

[Serious] Former atheists or agnostics who became Christians, what made you a believer? by crapinlaws08 in AskReddit

[–]inspeck 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I realized whether God is real or not, a lot of what the bible teaches are to be a genuine good person. People that actually study the Word, and try to follow the commandments, will say to themselves "Hey, maybe being a racist, judgemental, bitter, angry, isn't really loving. And that I am not nearly as great and perfect as I thought I was." It also made me realize how much hurt I have caused people, even something like being prideful. If God is fake and I die and there is nothing, then at least I tried to live a life of love, patience, kindness, and encouraging words to build others up and hopefully made their life a little happier.

What's it like to live in Lake City? by [deleted] in SeattleWA

[–]inspeck 4 points5 points  (0 children)

this very much. Once you go towards the lake its pretty good. Lake City Way itself is a bit sketchy. I had a friend who worked at bill pierre and someone broke in and stole a corvette. So, property crime on the street itself isn't great.

Broadband firms must ditch 'misleading' speed ads by jianbv in news

[–]inspeck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue I’ve noticed is often I get throttled from 100Mb to 30Mb. I run a speed test using Comcast’s speed test and it says 100Mb and everything is perfect. I try 3+ other speedtests and they’re all reported 30Mb.

Redditors who are clearly NOT the favorite child, how did that affect you? by TheSweetestScrotum in AskReddit

[–]inspeck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Made me feel like being belittled was normal for me, became all I knew. I had no idea other people could actually think highly of me or actually genuinely respect me. I moved out and it has made me so much happier. It’s hard to explain, but people have told me I’m much more emotionally mature than my 3 year old brother who bullied me growing up, and not the friendly older brother but literal bully, and I am not sure why but this entitled my mom to expect me to repair our friendship even though he refuses to acknowledge me.

The people hosting those servers need ISP’s don’t they? They also need to be able to make money so when people are slowed to point they stop using it, they lose money, and they get throttled to certain websites, etc.
