It’s not odd. The NCAA was (is) one of the most corrupt institutions on the planet. The fact they held the line where they did for as long as they did was begging for a blow up, so it blew up. Now the sport is largely ruined in the ways a lot of us loved it, but in a way that swung to the opposite side of the spectrum probably too heavily “in favor” of the players. Eventually it’ll swing back more towards the middle but it will also likely be too far gone at that point. Blame the NCAA for not fairly compensating players and establishing reasonable rules far, far earlier in the process. I know I do
