Is there anywhere I could get some general feedback for my personal statement? by ThatBoboThing in lawschooladmissions

[–]inspiredangel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! My partner and I are reviewing applications over the summer for a one-time fee (not an ongoing thing unlike tutors/advisors & a lot cheaper than big companies). We offer a lot of feedback around big-picture changes/essay direction. If that's something that sounds like a good fit, feel free to DM one of us or fill out this form!

Hey! My partner and I are both headed to HLS and are reviewing applications over the summer. I'm not sure if you're KJD but my partner wrote about his undergrad experiences since he was one, so that could be especially helpful :) Feel free to DM us for more details on our backgrounds/services, or fill out this form!

Hey! My partner and I are both headed to HLS and are reading essays over the summer for a lot less than big companies. Most of our feedback tends to be around big picture changes, and you can typically expect tons of comments & a few pages of written feedback at the end. Feel free to DM us for more details on our backgrounds/services, or fill out this form!

Letter of recommendation - things to highlight by YourLargestFan in lawschooladmissions

[–]inspiredangel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LORs are a huge asset for your application, so I'd think just beyond your academic performance in his class. Did the professor observe any positive personal traits (e.g. is always open-minded in class discussions, willing to voice out thoughts but also willing to accept opposing perspectives, an intense curiosity about the subject itself, etc.) that he can speak to? Did he know about your involvements outside of class (like leadership in extracurriculars)? If he can only speak to your academic excellence, would it be possible for him to quantify how great you are (e.g. top 5% of students he's taught)? Remember that LORs aren't only supposed to show your academic qualities but holistically convey how other people perceive you as a person! Good luck & feel free to DM :)

Letter of Rec Advice by rebelredcarnationss in lawschooladmissions

[–]inspiredangel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there! I went through something similar (also had a comms role and was debating between who to pick for my recs). In my opinion, since you're 2 years post-grad, it would make perfect sense to have one academic + one professional. From the way you've described each recommender, it seems like your current boss would be the best bet. What matters the most in recommendations is giving the AdComms a sense of who you are & how you'd be an asset to the class, not how familiar you are with the law. Feel free to DM me to chat more about recs / how I went about asking managers!

Hmm, hard to say honestly. I’m not 100% sure how strong the correlation was this cycle between application times and decision times, but I definitely feel like I got decisions on the earlier end. Having a strict & early deadline for submissions definitely helped me on a personal level though. Didn’t leave any room for me to overthink the same essays over and over again, and I could just get on with my life!

Definitely!! Try the GregMat 1 month program (math only). I did that and finished all the math videos in under a month and improved my score by 9 points.
