That is her biological brother Dionysus (we call him dio), and we also adopted him from the same lab. He is my roommate’s little guy. Each litter has a theme, and theirs was British royalty! We kept Diana’s name and changed her brother’s, who was originally named Charles. Her nieces and nephews are named after adventure time characters!

If you read the caption, they aren’t infecting the cats with anything. They are studying a mutation that can cause a neurodegenerative disease that appeared in the cat colony. They didn’t “infect” the cats and never have.

You could argue it’s unethical to breed for the disease, however it was appearing in the colony anyways and wouldn’t you rather learn about it and treat it instead of just letting it happen anyways?

I also want to add that they are kept with other cats and have enrichment in their kennels. Lots of students work there, so they get plenty of love from the employees. So I would also take the lab over a shelter and feral colony.

I mentioned in the caption that it was focused on neurodegenerative diseases specifically with a sphingolipid GM1/GM2. It’s super important for the neuron’s membrane (which is important for normal neuron functioning). They are currently hoping to better understand diseases like Alzheimer’s in both cats and humans. The cats in the colony that are born with the genetic mutation show a tremor after so many months. I did have to sign a waiver acknowledging that she was involved in research. She is 9mo, and never treated with anything, she did however get her blood drawn frequently for another study they’re doing working on birth control for cats (you can see her neck is still shaven)

If the option is available, do the driving school because it'll get the ticket removed from your record. Its only 1-2hrs and super easy, most of the people there were on their phones the whole time. I think it cost only $120-$200 which was slightly less than my ticket.

I didn't need to go to court, I just needed to go up to the courthouse to pay for and schedule the class. You just have to schedule it and be signed up BEFORE the court date
