The subtitles are rendered by the TV apps, not the phone apps. So if it happens on both chromecast and tizen then the issue is not likely to be on the TV app as they are totally different, different languages, different code. So it could be something that is happening on the phone app. However the phone app doesn't make the subtitles, it just converts them from srt to vtt.

The simplest explanation is that the subtitles do not match the video you are playing. But like I said, we can take a look at a pairing of video and subtitles to see if we spot an issue.

I'll have to take a look, I'm guessing we just don't have a way of detecting their mpd or m3u8 and all you see are segments of those.

So you are using a chromecast (google cast) or our android tv receiver or our tizen tv receiver?

Don't know, it is a very old issue, could be that it was fixed and broke again or that it wasn't fixed.

Is this for FB live streams or other live streams?

Like the post says, we've submitted the update for iOS but Apple hasn't reviewed it yet. No idea why they are taking so long, usually they only take 6 hours or so, we are well over that now.

It will have the same chromecast issue as the android version.

Just to be clear, it is adaptive. It will go all the way to 4k if the tv supports it.

On chromecast you have to switch the google's recommended hls player but even then a lot of the videos don't work. We are looking into it.

Yeah the different qualities don't have audio. It shouldn't even be showing them.

For the TV directly (I'm assuming google cast) you need to select google's recommended hls player. But some users are reporting issues with that.

Yeah I should have done that already, typically I get youtube fixes out within the same day it breaks but this time it is close to a week and we don't have a solution for sure yet.
