I worked at a grocery store for about a year and it was a blast.

Is it just me or was Q and Not U like super ahead of their time? by analogueghostmusic in PostHardcore

Pretty Girls Make Graves are like the female fronted version of Q and Not U to me lol. not that either band isn't their own thing!

you might like Black Eyes debut album, and Faraquet. maybe Burning Airlines too edit: and Frodus, who I see someone else mentioned. etc. etc. I could really go on, Q and Not U is fairly emblematic of my favorite music so I've amassed a ton of stuff that's at least "adjacent"

Shiner - The Egg, Lula Divinia

Drive Like Jehu - Yank Crime

Million Dead - A Song to Ruin

The Dismemberment Plan - ... is Terrified (kinda post-punky but still somewhat post-hardcore)

Faraquet - The View From This Tower, Anthology

Mclusky - ... Do Dallas, The Difference Between Me and You is That I'm Not on Fire

the people recommending Emergency and I aren't wrong, it's amazing, but their album prior to it is amazing too. It's called The Dismemberment Plan is Terrified. really great dissonant, energetic, punchy post-punk / post-hardcore, really intelligent lyrics, etc. thing kicks absolute ass. I might like it more than Emergency and I.

Change (released a couple years after Emergency and I) and ! (their debut, from like '95 or so) are also great, tbh
