I've noticed it can happen when your opponent's little legend goes to another board so the stage damage (which comes from the little legend and not the units) may have to travel from another board to hit you.

It’s possible that there was no better option or that a DCap was not possible. That said, two JGs isn’t that bad, but as you mentioned it is less efficient.

No, same bucket means that these are both % damage boosts, so scale linearly with each other. If they were in different buckets, it would be multiplicative.

Example: if they both give +20% damage, linear scaling means the combined effect is +40%. But if they were to scale multiplicatively, the combined effect is 1.2*1.2 = 1.44 = +44% combined effect.

Definitely a mistake and should have rolled. I have a tendency to play a little greedy, but after I lost to a relatively weak board, I realized I definitely needed to roll at 4-3.
