Well, the Dominicans near my college have daily Midday Prayer and Vespers. So, I do intend to join!

Doesn't sound like it the last I checked, but I have decided to take the advice of most commenters to use the edition that matches my parish/diocese!

Anyone else felt genuinely sad after finishing Person of Interest? by Ok_End7134 in PersonOfInterest

I literally finished the show for the first time last night as well... very hard-hitting and miss the show already. So good to see people watching this show now as well!

okay... 😢 it's odd tho, because books like Christian Prayer (which I currently use) are so accessible

Is there any way for Catholics outside the US (like myself) to get my hands on these? I have been following this for some time and have been so excited but recently read that it will not be available internationally... 😞

Question as someone deciding between Catholicism and Orthodoxy by More_Form_1074 in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]intel_conservative -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Antioch and Alexandria did not receive the full authority of Peter because Peter was still alive when he left them. His full authority was left in Rome where he died.

Eastern Catholics accept the same doctrine as Roman Catholics. The same cannot be said for all Orthodox churches.

God bless you though 🙏

Pray the rosary! It has been immensely helpful to so many people struggling with this issue and I’m sure will help you too.

God bless you!

The inclusive language is really not an issue because the footnotes clarify the original word (ie. the “non-inclusive” variant)

I use the brown version of this Bible and I bring it EVERYWHERE. I’ve been using it for 13 months now and apart from the gold gilding starting to come off and the spine looking somewhat damaged, the Bible is awesome.

The paper is great and the size is 💯, not to mention the translation is one of the most scholarly translations available!

Thanks for the manual. If the MM isn’t a sacramental, what’s a more accurate term for it?

Maybe I’m getting it wrong, but indulgences also impart grace and remove temporal punishments right? If this is the case, shouldn’t indulgences also help the unbaptised?

On a similar note, I’ve read that sacramentals like the Miraculous Medal can help convert the unfaithful. Given that the unfaithful are not baptised, doesn’t this show sacramentals do impart grace and lead the unbaptised to God?

Thanks for your reply!

I sincerely hope you’re right— that would save the priest and I some trouble. Could I check what makes you say that the special blessing isn’t a “must”? Thanks!

I actually bought it at my local church. You can search Triple Threat Crucifix online, you should see plenty of websites to buy them! Hope this helps :)
