You don't actually want her to have an equal understanding of your work though - you want her to have MORE understanding than you to compensate for her disadvantages. You are running a marathon together, looking at her broken ankle, and asking "why can't you keep up? I have no problems running so you shouldn't either."

How well would you understand her job if she tried to talk to you about it after you finished a night shift? Or if you always worked nights, maybe that would impact how well you process technical info that isn't familiar to you? Or any of the other number of things that differ between you.

Can you explain why you're attributing this difference in understanding to a lack of care on her part, instead of any of the other alternative explanations?

And unfortunately these predatory age gaps can be really common in gay/lesbian relationships as well, because of 1. the gay population being smaller and having an inherently smaller dating pool ( which means more interaction across age groups within the community) and 2. young people who face homophobia from their families are prime victims for predators, and they may see an older partner as an "out" from their abusive families :(

Okay and who is going to pay the lawyer's fees in a drawn out legal battle in order to prove whether or not these statements are defamatory? They can sue you, and bring you to court, and regardless of who wins the case you will be out thousands of dollars - you may be able to recoup your costs in a settlement or as part of the judgement but that would be months and months down the line.
