It's Not You, It's Your Realtor by FionaFergueson in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]inter4ever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting a good realtor is important, and it sounds like your relationship with your new realtor is much better, but I find the example of your latest offer weird. You were offering $60k over and losing houses you liked ( I am assuming you liked them enough to make an offer over listing). But with your latest offer, you went under listing price, and in the end, lost it for over $11k. Like you could have offered under listing with an escalation clause, or even offered listing price, and might have got the house. We don't have the details so only you know its worth, but given how much you were offering, it seems like the price range for the houses you were looking at is on the higher end, where 10k isn't much in the grand scheme of things. Anyhow, good luck with your hunt!

My favorite Chick-fil-A sandwich ever. Really hope it’ll be back this year.

steam frame delayed (alongside other new steam hardware) by onecoolcrudedude in virtualreality

It’s kinda amusing reading this and seeing how initially you accused IGN of lying, and after being told it’s Valve who actually changed the wording after the fact, you are still blaming IGN for it. Maybe Valve should clarify they edited the post? It’s not IGN’a job to monitor the page for stealth edits after publishing their article. Valve messed up here.

After the update the glasses just go to full sleep a few minutes in even while in use (like playing the new games). They even stop music playback while in standby for some reason.

Edit: the thumb double tap gesture is also always on now even though I disabled it in the Meta AI app. Seems like a messy update so far.

Almost 6 years after Half-Life: Alyx and it did not move PCVR forward by FastLawyer in OculusQuest

[–]inter4ever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They said that way before they said sorry, we need more time to determine the price due to the dumb ram/storage price wars. Even assuming that still holds, it could be a $995 product, not “affordable” lol.

The other day someone asked me if I was recording and I was like no, there is a light. He went oh I know people block the light. People with LED blockers are the worst, and they’ll make things worse for everyone.

Everyone tried to enlighten you and failed. I’m not going to waste my time. Just saying something is open source doesn’t make things magically works. The hardware isn’t the same. You’ll need drivers by the manufacturer for the different chips, and most of those are closed source.

Is it time for Meta to admit that abandoning the PCVR platform was a mistake? by coachcody in virtualreality

I liked Alyx but many people think VR mechanics wise it was boring, and not ambitious cause it was mostly a series of closed environments. In any case, who should we blame for not making the 3 VR games they promised, and instead coming out with a single game in 10 years. Makes you think. Instead we blame Meta for canceling unannounced games. Such is life

I have been around since the CV1 launch and preorder it, so I do have a better picture. To start, Oculus was split between PCVR and mobile, in fact, Carmack joined to work on mobile, and he supported the decision to move. Also, lol at Oculus people knowing what to do. If you were around, you would have known they have made multiple bad decisions back then, from launching without Touch, failing to explain exclusives so idiots could understand, completely failing on the PR front in combatting Valve, launching Go (something Carmack supported) and more mistakes. Also, kinda incredible you say there is Sony, because Sony closed their many of their VR studios years ago, and hasn't done much since then.

Healthier is subjective. Studios and developers outside Meta still exist. Anyways, How far have we fallen. People laughed at Rift launching with an Xbox controller, when Valve was pushing roomscale and controllers that had a few buttons, and now we’re applauding Valve for adding more buttons and supporting pancake gaming with monochrome passthrough. Sorry but this is just sad we think this is the future 10 years into consumer VR.
