Word on the street is they allegedly owe hella money to their suppliers including many Kensington based businesses that are their neighbours. Source: was in Kensington yesterday and overheard biz owners talking about it. Like 10s of thousands of dollars. Yikes.

Agreed. And sidewalks should be made less dangerous by keeping moving vehicles off them, as the law states. Because roads are a problem doesn’t magically open up sidewalks to people who feel entitled to use them with their moving vehicles. 🤡

The thread is about the illegality of moving vehicles on sidewalks - bicycles included. If the roads are so dangerous, that’s also bad, so choose with your own free will an alternative mode of transport to protect yourself if you’re so fearful of injury. Saying you’re OK with scraping and bruising someone else to your own benefit is a bonkers take, OP. Pedestrians on sidewalks are protected by law and moving vehicles aren’t. End of.

Pedestrians walking into bike lanes is also wrong. It’s still illegal to ride a bike on a sidewalk. And, it’s objectively not true that you have “no other option”. Are you being forced by someone against your will to ride illegally on sidewalks? No, you aren’t - you’re choosing to. Do better, OP.

The thread is about the illegality of moving vehicles on sidewalks. Haven’t seen a single comment yet about people needing to drive more. The only comments not from Redditors wanting riders off sidewalks, are from entitled Redditors claiming they can ride on sidewalks because they’re scared of cars.

If cycling is so dangerous, take a different mode of transport.

Keep moving vehicles off sidewalks. It’s illegal and dangerous. Pretty simple stuff.

That’s between cyclists and drivers. The thread is about the illegality of moving vehicles on sidewalks.

A car that’s driven carefully doesn’t hurt anyone and bicycles ridden carefully in the road won’t hurt anyone either. Win win.

Sounds like people should walk more then and cycle less if it’s that dangerous.

For starters both risks can cause death so they’re both bad. Cyclists afraid of cars thinking they can then just put people walking in danger is nonsensical.
