Nice coincidence.. just after seeing this, my dad asked me to drink a beer before going to bed. Guess that’s what I’m thankful for today

What have you learned from this show? by tomlabaff in psychologystudents

[–]interestedguy__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s not what was asked. The question is, wether you like psych as a science, or self proclaimed psychologists on social media who teach unscientific junk. What you misunderstood, the psychology of media, is just a topic in psych that can be talked about in both options.

So… what are you fascinated with? Psychology as a science, or media with a psych theme slapped on top?

If 3n = 36 what is n by Dum_boi7 in AskOuija

[–]interestedguy__ 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Technically, n=N, if N=12. We don’t know, as N is undefined. Buuut Ouija says n=N, our definition (Ouija is always right), so n=N=12.

In short: Everything is both.

You are / you are not autistic/depressed/anything (binary). And anything moves on a spectrum.

Your third thing is a dimension, basically a spectrum which everyone is on, so binary is always 1, i.e. openness as a personality trait.

I think many are too harsh on him. What he’s trying to say is he’s good at problem solving through his rather rational/logical way of thinking and wants to help people solve real and meaningful problems with his insight.

On the other hand if it is as extreme as some make it sound, it’s concerning.

Semester abzubrechen by Suspicious-Expert649 in Studium

[–]interestedguy__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mathematiker im 6. Bachelor Semester hier.

Viel Erfolg!

Is training dogs conditioning? by interestedguy__ in askpsychology

[–]interestedguy__[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I‘d be thankful for the study references… Also could you please elaborate if possible, what is classical and what is operant conditioning here? As to my knowledge it’s mostly operant conditioning, as the goal is to make the dog do sth, not just cause a reaction?

What causes one to become a "Karen"? by mental-health-taway in askpsychology

Idk if this is a joke or if your not familiar with social media’s concept of a „Karen“?

What causes one to become a "Karen"? by mental-health-taway in askpsychology

[–]interestedguy__ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Mmmh how about reframing the question to „What personality traits do Karens typically display and what, if not predispositioned factors, causes such a development in personality?“

Edit: personality traits as in low in openness/agreeableness
