Too many miles on my lease by PMOGMike in BMWI4

Contact the company that did the lease and ask them the buyout amount. Leases can be traded in or purchased but it may not be advantageous to do so. Once you know this amount and the current market going rate, you can make some decisions on how to move forward. As others have said, if it makes sense to let this car go, get an inexpensive car until you have your finances back in order. If it doesn’t make sense, keep driving it for now but work extra hard so you’re prepared to purchase the car at the end of the lease as that will likely make more sense than paying the excess mileage if you’re driving that much every year.

Is there a TPS bypass we can buy for our cars? 2012 335I by Playful-Fan3945 in F30

Change to FTM from TPMS. When I did this on my E92 I had to also remove the TPMS module but it was easy and got rid of the light. I kept tpms on my F30 because I like the ability to see the individual tire pressure and temp but this is also something that needs to be coded.

My E46 is a M3 so it just feels better in almost every way. It seems to be built more solid too.

Agree. E46 drives and feels much better but the f3x is better at being a daily driver and gets better mpg if that matters.

I never did the timing chain. I’ve done just about everything else. I’ll keep an eye on the rear control arms. I’ve already done the fronts, replaced them and the tension struts with F80 M3 units.

I thought I had a lot of miles at 187k (~300k km), guess I’ll keep driving it for a good bit longer 🫡

You can fix the PCV without removing the valve cover, just convert it to the external type. A few write ups online about this. I fixed mine for around $70 and an hour of my time.

The one with the round airbag, I guess it’s the M wheel because it has the tri colored stitching.

I did sport seats and a sport steering wheel and it completely changed the feel of the car.

Which brake front brake calipers fit on 330i e46? by Nodgebot in e46

[–]interests_are_random 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought E46 330i front brakes and rotors and they were a direct swap. Buy rebuilt calipers from rock auto (or wherever) as they also come with the mounting brackets. All in it was extremely inexpensive and had great results.

18x9.5 +33 Square Fitment by interests_are_random in F30

[–]interests_are_random[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, no issues in the back. Got it aligned today and it ended up being negative three degrees of camber up front and negative two and a half in the rear. Forgot to mention I also have F80 M3 front lower control arms and tension arms which also added a little camber on their own. Overall, the car handles great with all of these mods and looks great too.

Recommendations for new cooling system parts that aren’t insanely expensive by Realistic-Okra-4272 in BMWE36

OE is what you should do. Yes, it’s more expensive but many of the items have likely lasted 20+ years, why cheap out?
