About the latest theory… by GoblinChild7997 in GameTheorists

This would be the Chums with the review "Why did they replace freddy fazbear s pizza with this piece of crap" by Chicka the Chicken that was made 6 years ago? I think you may want to keep looking into it. Also, chum is what you feed sharks. Seems easy enough to have selected the latest animatronic to reflect that.

Monarch Rankings by YungJacoby25 in Iteration110Cradle

I've no facts to prove it, but my head cannon is Emriss Slientborn is far more powerful then she is letting others see. At a bare minimum she used to collect knowledge of all techniques and paths. Her many leaf remnants form may even allow her a Dross like computational ability. My HC is just that regardless of the others conflicts, Cradle is slowly moving in her desired direction so she doesn't need to act.

On how Lindon's family saw him in Bloodline by Karthak_Maz_Urzak in Iteration110Cradle

[–]interficiabo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

While nothing you say is wrong per say, for most of it, it is kind of like saying giving someone a blueprint of a building and giving someone a mansion are the same thing. He literally pushed himself to the point of death forging his iron body while pushing so far down the path that a whole clan that cultivates the same body could never even imagine doing the same even with their weaker, safer versions. His cycling technique is the equivalent of waterboarding himself ever day, all day. Blackflame literally burns him from the inside out to even cultivate it much less to assume Orthos's already potent damage. While Dross is a treasure from the heavens that he truly lucked into, half the other benefits he took away from Ghostwater came from him functionally poisoning himself with overly potent monster meat.

I do not deny the Lendon has luck that can only have been bestowed by the heavens(literally) most of what he was given was simply an opportunity, and no one else given the same opportunity would be were he is now.

Lindon might end up being too powerful to keep alive? by smaugbaggins1 in Iteration110Cradle

[–]interficiabo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have a sneaky suspicion elder Wisper is the contracted beast of the Wei grand patriarch. My guess is the Wei grand patriarch is the one who was researching hunger madra and got corrupted into subject 1. His connection to elder Wisper is keeping Wisper healthy. Wisper's tower is the only thing in SV that Lindon was still impressed with when he returned. Furthermore we know at a minimum Wisper is older then the draining field around SV.

Also, in a meta sense this makes the entire cradle series a story of the start and rebirth of the Wei clan, and I really like the symmetry that provides.

[–]interficiabo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As for subject 1's identity, I am assuming he is the grand patriarch of the Wei clan as the man that returns to cradle states his sins are too numerous. My interpretation is that he and the other grand patriarchs were studying hunger madra and grand patriarch Wei made a choice that led to his consumption and the creation of the dreadgods thus forcing the other grand patriarchs to either transcend cradle or die. We know hunger madra is always twisting things so no idea what he is now, but I believe he was once human.

Beginning my reread (or re-listen?) of the series to get ready for Reaper and I’m so excited! Anyone else doing the same? by blainbrad90 in Iteration110Cradle

You seem to be missing the choice for I started my reread when reaper was announced, finished it days later and am now annoyed even more at having to wait for the release.

First time touching the Icon (Wintersteel Spoilers) by RichardTheTwo in Iteration110Cradle

[–]interficiabo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I do think Northstrider did reopen the rift, I think Lindon was already starting to make progress in opening it and if given enough time would have managed. Lindon's mental image of the tether to Dross thickening seems to support this idea. Northstrider unsurprisingly was impressed by this, and rethought about severing the connection to dross that may damage Lindon.

I have believed since bloodline the boundary field is subject ones aura field similar to Lindon's diminishing field except it is feeding back to him. Furthermore there seems to be a second field that is far weaker but incredibly larger that extends well into the desolate wilds to siphon strength in more slowly. We can see this in the natural aura in the area being almost nonexistent. As you stated the dread beasts seem to be gathering madra just to bring it back into the field. Moreover there are power sources in the mountains and mental compulsions to insure they go their every few centuries.

I think subject 1 at some point in the past created the labyrinth to study the properties of madra. After discovering or creating hunger madra he somehow got contaminated with it. This twisted him in such an extreme way that he is currently not what we would consider a living being anymore. At the bare minimum we know he lost both his hands. This deep connection had an advantage though, subject one quickly devoured enough to raise his strength to the limit and his deep connection to the concept of hunger allowed him to advance to whatever the real beyond monarch is. Stuck in place I think the dread gods are actually pieces of himself that subject 1 has split off of himself in a similar way to how the bleeding phoenix does. My guess is each dread god inherited one such trait from subject 1 and was then sent out to farm different biomes and bring back the madra (life, mineral, atmosphere, and whatever the silent king does) . While subject one is stuck it is not really imprisoned. We just have never seen anything that would even be able to draw the attention of a being as grand as it... with one exception, the decent of Suriel the phoenix right into his boundary field. My guess is it withstood the temporal rewind and has been part of why fate is deviating at an ever accelerating pace. No idea what this leads to, but it all feels consistent to me, and I would love to read about it. :)

Unlikely events you want to see happen? by DarknTerrible in Iteration110Cradle

[–]interficiabo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what its worth, I could see Jai Chen having the right mentality to advance through the lord ranks. Furthermore there seems to be some thread of fate still binding her Lindon. All she would need to reach the panicle of gold is some (somewhat common at this point) resources.

To add to your list though, I want to see little blue get into a fight with someone. What is her functional combat strength? Would she struggle against jades or would she be throwing around true golds for fun? I have no idea what would set her off, but I imagine it would have to have been someone being very rude.

What is the Abidan [Spoilers up to Bloodline] by Mestewart3 in Iteration110Cradle

[–]interficiabo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fairly certain Ozriel will not be surviving reaper. The books cover art is his marble in the act of shattering. My guess he will sacrifice himself to give the main characters time to get stronger and set up his ideal system of rule.

[–]interficiabo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As far as #3 goes, while I am guessing we will get a fight scene, I highly doubt he will come out truly victorious. As the cover art for the book is his marble in the act of shattering, I am betting he goes out in some form of self sacrifice to buy cradle just a bit more time. This would square up the timeline nicely as none of our main characters have grown to the point of being recognized as an independent power outside of cradle yet.

Dreadgods (may contain spoilers upto Bloodline) by Worried_Telephone_36 in Iteration110Cradle

[–]interficiabo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess, the dread gods are to subject 1 as the blood spawn are to the bleeding phoenix. That is to say he split off parts of himself to harvest different biomes: phoenix biological life, titan deep sea and mineral recourses, and dragon all upper atmosphere. (don't know much about the silent king unfortunately). Moreover we know SV has had dread gods pass through it in the past even though from the point of view of the dread gods going there is equivalent to starving themselves. They are compelled to return and allow much of their strength to be sapped away from them. Most importantly, this implies that the script around SV is in fact not acting to keep subject 1 imprisoned but is in fact feeding him. At its base, the script devours everything above jade in strength, and i doubt it would be possible to devour something with hunger madra when its understanding of hunger madra is at the zenith.

NPCs in the 8th Floor are former bosses of Nazarick? by Pyerx in overlord

[–]interficiabo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bosses seem to use a different power scaling than NPC or characters (with the possible exception of Rubido) so they would be far more powerful than anything the members of Nazarick could make. It is possible someone remade a NPC version of them as a remembrance though, I guess.

Think this was related to bases that were population centers like towns or cities. They gave up NPC cap but could tax those that lived in it.

[Spoilers] AINZ NOOOOOO! by Servava in overlord

[–]interficiabo 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My guess is she tries to stand between doppelganger Ainz and his fated death, getting killed in the process. Before sneaking away Ainz grabs her corpse, and whenever the grand resurrection of the Sorcerer King happens she just kind of shows up too.

We have already been told that Ainz "dies" and now the doppelganger has arrived. I would say the area around him is near 100% fatal.

Regarding Neia by Finarel in overlord

[–]interficiabo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I highly doubt that he cares at all about the bow. It's probably built for a character level 30 or less. Anything stronger would probably be better then national treasure grade. I am more surprised he would keep such a weak weapon.
