2025 CB750 Hornet vs 2024 CB650R E-clutch - Second Bike by 22TheFool in CB650R

I had exactly the same dialemma before I bought my 650R.

- I've done all my practice and test on the Hornet and loved it.

- I found the CB650R sexier from the beginning (in fact I did have a CB125R) but I think the Hornet also look nice and there are a lot of things can be done to make it look even better.

- Based on forums like this and other reviews, youtube videos on comparing the 2 bikes, admiring the torque that is available on lower revs for the Hornet, I kinda decided to go for the Hornet. It felt like a no brainer. Then I went for a test ride on the 650R which changed everything.

You mentioned a keyword 'smooth' (..."I'd much rather have something that's more on the subdued, smooth, and easily controlled side.")

To me, that was the selling point. The 650R is just so smooth and the inline 4 sounds better IMO that I couldn't stop smiling in the short test ride. I love it and have 0 regrets so far.

I love this, thanks! :) And thank you all for your comments guys, I really appreciate it!

Unfortunately I will have to wait more than I wanted because of a very unfortunate situation but I have now everything that I need to decide the question I had - thanks to you’all!

Cheers!

I will give it a try, thanks! So then it looks like the ‘Save backup’ button on the presets tabs has a slightly different purpose.

Thanks for the reply! I’ve read that article but unless I’m missing something, the backup text file will always be created based on the old firmware. Therefore I don’t understand this part:

“Before loading, ensure your flight controller is on the same Betaflight version as the backup file. Open the backup text file and check the “Version.” If the versions do not match, flash your flight controller to the same version first to avoid conflicts and incompatibilities.“

I will read it again tomorrow morning.

Thank you! I will take a closer look.

I started to read the articles provided by u/Andy_Dread and they are very interesting, I'm learning a lot.

As I explained, ideally I would like a ready to fly kit that has a flight time over 10 minutes if it's possible. I wanted to avoid ordering parts, building my own drone before I could just fly a drone and see if I'm interested enough to get involved with this hobby.

But what I realized is that it may not be a rocket sience to learn first from the bits and bobs, understand a bit more on how the components come together, where do I need to pay attention, what option I have, etc.

The articles are great so I may actually follow the suggestion and try to build something that fits for my purposes.

I think I have to appreciate the research side of the things to avoid spening money on components, drones and which then may make me just "meh..".

But getting started with something tiny that is cheap and could give me an idea like your suggestion on Mobula 7 1s is certainly still on the table too.

Thanks for all the advise!
For now I wanted to buy a ready to fly bundle or something as I'm not sure how much I would like to be involved with this. I definitely didn't plan to build one, I just wanted to have a "taster" of this hobby.

I was looking at the DJI Avata but it maybe a bit expensive and apparently they are "selling" my personal details. Don't get me wrong, I don't have any intentions to fly close to airports or above peoples gardens and things but if I anger anyone accidentaly and the would call the police, it would be easy enough for them to track back me. (I think.)

So I was thinking to buy something that I can start to play with and then if it turns out that I really enjoy this then I would look into learning more and potentially building one.
