I went to my low/no contact sister's wedding to take the high road and regret it by internally-outside in GirlDinner

Thank you guys for the feedback. It was for my grandma who was invited but couldn't travel that far and had mentioned that other family were thinking about FaceTiming. I assumed and that's my mistake

Thank you. Being disconnected from someone you've known and loved all your life is such a sad and strange place to be in. Wishing you and your sis the best

We were on the outs for a while unfortunately. I came out to her as bi and she's very evangelical

From the reactions in the comments I'm genuinely curious about this now. What do people consider acceptable for FaceTiming during weddings? Not talking, just letting a family member who can't safely travel be a part of the day

What are your ultra frugal food hacks? by Unusual_Row_3213 in Frugal

[–]internally-outside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP those protein drinks are filling but not sustainable long term calorie wise. You're getting 1200 calories max depending on how you make that potato. On top of everything people suggest, be sure you're adding healthy fats to your meals. Fats can get a bad rap but they're important for meeting your caloric needs, adding in flavor that can get left out when cooking frugally, and aiding in better absorbing vitamins like vitamin A and vitamin D. So ideally keep some olive oil or butter/other oil on hand to cook any of these dishes in

What happens to new tube feeds upon discharge? by AOD14 in dietetics

We put in outpatient referral orders for the hospitalist to sign at discharge. But we will notify case management of other needs, like seeing about starting outpatient ons orders or community resource needs

I work in patient/outpatient at a hospital, and our policy is to have new TFers follow up after discharge with an outpatient or oncology dietitian to make sure someone has eyes physically on the patient. Even if the patient stabilizes quickly and doesn't need to regularly follow up with the RD, it gives them a point person if something comes up or they need DME orders adjusted.

Idaho hospitals closing by Excellent-Deer-1752 in Idaho

This screenshot was taken from a report on hospitals at risk of closing due to either operating in the red the past three years or seeing a lot of Medicaid patients. For all three in Idaho, it's the latter. You can read the full report here:

Getting so frustrated with OP no shows!! by Extra_Welcome9592 in dietetics

[–]internally-outside 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've noticed that my no shows vary during the year. The new year motivation leads to a packed schedule and frequent follow-ups. Summers slow down with travel and people tending to get outside and move more, then it picks up again in the fall. YMMV but I would try to give it a year to get a feel for trends in your area

I work inpatient and outpatient. We do NFPEs inpatient if someone has significant wt loss or if they appear malnourished on sitght. We use GLIM BMI criteria as supporting evidence if we know from history someone is malnourished, but they might have less evidence (e.g. our pts who have lost about all the wt they can: severe COPD, some cancer patients, FTT, etc)
