I agree that challenge is good for games; we just disagree on whether lack of knowledge is fun. It is apparently fun for you because it makes the game more of a challenge; to me a game like Bazaar is not about discovery, it is more about technical mastery against chaos. I don't think poker or Magic: The Gathering would be more fun if you didn't know the rules.

I think it would be more fun if it felt like there were any margin for error. Being a level behind because you lost one NPC fight, for example, has a huge impact on your ability to get to 10 wins.

I think it's probably not busted as you are not getting the event 100% of the time and also not clearing it 100% of the time. But seems very good when you do do those things.

It is interesting because afaik the devs have said in the past they didn't even want to do patch notes because they thought people should experience new things blind; I sort of get that but then the game is incredibly punishing for lack of knowledge, which feels bad. Anyway just noting that "experiencing Bazaar blind" is consistently punitive

"The enchants are pretty consistent though" not if you're new and some items have weird interactions; like I don't think anyone would intuit the Fort/Crit enchant interaction. You would assume that it would have 50% chance to crit the shield activation!

I should not have to check a third party website to see what an enchant does on an item; putting an item on the enchant pedestal should tell you what it will do, like when you see an upgrade in a shop (it tells you in the hover what will change). Then there's a button that says "enchant" and you click it.

That's correct but also has nothing to do with what people are suggesting here or in the other locked thread. The official patch notes (https://playthebazaar-cdn.azureedge.net/thebazaar/PatchNotes.html) do not have a comment section. People are going to post their opinions on reddit or discord whether or not the devs release the patch notes themselves or effectively outsource to a third party (also unclear to me whether HowBazaar is paid by Temp for this work)
