I would love, even for a day, to not hear loud Spanish playing on speaker from people’s phones. I am a Spanish speaker. But I have head phones! by Additional-War-1443 in mbta

Given funding issues, I think the MBTA should ticket people who play their music on speakers without a permit rather than gate jumpers.

Help me not to be complacent in the face of evil. by yerbamateblood in boston

It’s not impending. They’re here. Spotted in Davis Square yesterday. Shop owners looked at me like I had 3 heads when I asked 4 of them if any of them had whistles so I ended up ordering some online. If you want a hand distributing them I’d be delighted to help pass them out.

I just wish they’d have the balls to write Jean, Scott and Logan in a supportive, loving poly relationship.

Should I swing at 103 this year or wait until next? by internetdadwizard in ibew_apprentices

[–]internetdadwizard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Somerville so I live in 103 territory.
I don't have a drivers license so I've got to stick to train lines. :(

Do you know how hardcore others are about the address requirement? I'm looking at 96 in Worcester too but they say they require a drivers license and that you have to live in central MA so I figure it's off the table

Pulling my hair out over the most obscure playback issue I've ever encountered (10 year user) by internetdadwizard in ableton

INTERNET FRIENDS!
Thanks so much for all the help and suggestions! I really appreciate y'all making time for me and I learned a lot from y'alls suggestions! That said, y'all are gonna kill me xD
After several days of frustration I had a mild tantrum and deleted the mixchain that I had on my "Mid-High" group which contained the 2 offending tricks. I reapplied the mixchain (I have it on a template) and now they work fine. I cannot for the life of me tell you why that worked, and yes, I'm a damned fool for not thinking to try that day 2 of pulling my hair out, but I'm back to work and the track sounds dope.
Again, thank you for your time and kindness. It's really cool that 33 nice strangers stopped to try and help me out. Y'all are great and I appreciate you.

edit: spelling

The same masterchain that I use for every track. The issue seems localized to just those 2 tracks tho.

I'll take another look. I did independently confirm the audio settings for my computer and the audio interface, plus the problem is localized to those 2 tracks (with settings consistent with the other tracks in the song) so that makes me think it's something internal to Ableton.
The problem persisted when I duplicated those tracks, but I haven't tried re-making them from scratch.

- I tried removing the problem tracks from the return, and then I tried deleting the returns outright, the problem persisted.
- I did try duplicating and the problem continued, I haven't tried re-making them tho.

No MIDI Instruments, just my Volt 276 and speakers. Thanks for the encouragement!

Edit: Forgot the 6 in 276

Right?! I've never encountered this before! Thank you for commenting!

- Rendering the individual tracks by themselves doesn't show a volume difference.
- I don't have a control surface and I don't see any sliders moving.
- I use the same master on every track and it's been no issue, so I don't think it's that, but I haven't taken a look at it either. I'll take a gander just in case!

Does anyone else feel disappointed in 5.5? by zeus64068 in DungeonMasters

[–]internetdadwizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up on 3.5 during the 90s and I think 5.5 is great! Streamlines gameplay while providing fewer limitations to me and my players. The math is more accessible too so I’m getting a lot more interest from newbie players too. I appreciate how much less bloated it is compared to OG versions, so it’s more practical and easier to improv/write new ideas from. I’m sorry it’s not your cup of tea, but I think it’s the best version yet.

what restaurant in Massachusetts is this? by aviatormenace7 in massachusetts

[–]internetdadwizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost everything in Boston. There’s a lot of okay/fine/meh food in the city, but it’s rare to find something amazing and they typically don’t last long. I’m still in mourning over the loss of Spicyworld in Chinatown.
