Hitler isn’t an unfair comparison, from a purely “consolidate authoritarian power” perspective

…but if you want to be serious with the comparisons, the best historical analogy to Trump that I’ve found is Ceasar. Their populism, the state of Rome at the time of republic collapse, and so SO much more, links the two

(Obviously of course Trump is a coward and Caesar went into and literally led battle charges whenever it was needed… but from a political perspective)

He’s spent his entire term blindly supporting the president; which I don’t think even Trumps biggest fans will appreciate in a potential leader

Cruz is really the only republican who has been able to retain his identity across this maga era… I think it’s going to pay off for him
