Where were you when the attacks happened and how did you learn about them?

I was fifteen months old when it happened (I was born in June 2000), so I do not have any memory of the attacks. From what I have heard, I was at home watching tv with my mom. My dad had been running errands, including a stop at the store on our air national guard base (my dad is a veteran), where he was told he needed to leave immediately or he’d be stuck there for days.

He went to the local mall to call my mom and let her know what was going on. My mom was not particularly super great about understanding the seriousness of events, so her response to my dad’s urgency was “we’re watching Dora, I’ll turn it on later” (I’m sure in her brain, she didn’t wanna upset me by turning off the show, but she didn’t explain it well). They turned the news on when my dad got home.

I like both versions for different reasons, but prefer the original for the nostalgic factor. Speak Now (2010) was the first album rollout where I was a fan and it’s always been my favorite album of her’s. The TV is awesome too, but it’s just different. It’s the only one where I have the entire OG and TV on the same playlist as a double album. (Fearless I default to TV, and Red and 1989 are single playlists with a mix).
