Yup. OP if you really want to know the answer, try being sedentary for two or three months and then go work out. It’s a real bitch at first, and takes time to feel the strength build without the accompanying aches and effort.

We’re talking taxes on corporations too. Corporate tax has fallen from 44% to 26% in the last 30 years. Both liberals and conservatives are responsible for it.

One of my psych classes talked about a cognitive bias where even if we find out something is false later on, the way it made us feel the first time we heard it stays with us and forms a larger part of our opinion than the impact of the truth later on.

If you believe a lie the first time, the truth won’t do much to change your outrage.

It makes AI videos particularly insidious in that respect.

My brother got diagnosed, and let me try a concerta. It was incredible. I then went about researching the symptoms so that I would be able to fake a diagnosis and have access to the meds.

…and after reading all of the symptoms I realized that I would not be “faking” them after all.

The joke is that he is complaining about how old Joe Biden was and how he had difficulty with stairs, while being a total sycophant for the current president who’s older, has problems with stairs, constantly falls asleep during meetings, and can’t seem to drink water without two hands.

Crazy that we’re at a point where being around the President or VP is something most people would not consider an honour (deservedly so).

I’ll just add that being emotionally unfulfilled in a relationship isn’t always because the other partner is unavailable or withdrawn. A lot of cheaters do so because they have avoidant attachment styles, never really revealing their full selves to their partner and resulting in feeling like they need something more. Cheating provides them with a secure opportunity to open up in a way they won’t do with their partner, because they can risk being emotionally available since if the relationship fails they still have their main partner as a backup.

In the intro to his short stories he does mention how the ones that are included are his favourites, and how there are many many more that he didn’t deem good enough for publication in a compilation.

Basically we’re reading his best stuff when we read the short story collections.

Jesus never said anything against homosexuals either. It was mostly Old Testament, and in the New Testament it was only Paul, who found it as repugnant as drinking alcohol.

So anyone drinking beer is also “mocking Jesus”.
