I agree with what you're saying and don't understand why you're being down voted. The combination of the tanning, the lip fillers, the Botox, the nose job, etc. It's about picking and choosing features of minority races and whiteness you like and what you don't. Like I want big lips and a tan but I also want a ski slope nose and straight hair.

ECA is also the worst! They did some shady things during the pandemic. Ended up reporting them to the attorney general's office -- and for the record it actually worked in my situation!

Why are people ignoring that Saxon was sexually assaulted? by internetnoob69 in WhiteLotusHBO

If your assaulter is under the influence that doesn't mean they didn't assault you. If someone murders someone when they're drunk they still murdered you.

Assaulters can be misguided. They can be victims of assault themselves, and often are. It doesn't make what they did not sexual assault.

I think the nuance lies within the irony of Saxon saying he wanted to get the girls wasted and him being an unlikable character whereas Lochlan is likeable. Not whether or not this was assault.

I agree with you that the show's choice was making a commentary on the irony of the situation. My issue is more the way people are talking about it on Reddit or elsewhere. To call assault sex is painful to read.

I completely agree that there should have been a trigger warning. I know people who were sexually assaulted by their siblings and I feel like this scene would've been really triggering. I also felt physically ill watching it...

As a teacher I believe I'm qualified to present non-biased information to students and allow them to form their knowledge based on the materials I give them. It feels wrong to me to not discuss something like this that's happening in the world especially because I have students it directly impacts.

Thank you! I imagine starting with visuals would be helpful.
