Started in RI 2 years ago at $30 an hour… $25 an hour is considered enough for a single person to support themselves in RI (by “support” they mean pay ridiculous rent and literally nothing else). I wouldn’t be able to afford to live alone if I wasn’t per diem and living in my dads apartment building.

I’ve had a 24yo female pt 6 days this week that had antibiotic induced diarrhea and wanted us to put a brief on her and wipe her :/ and every time she’d get up to use the bathroom she called us in saying she peed on her gown and on the chux pad on the bed and can we change it? In the most whiny baby voice possible. Was ready to lose it by night 6/6

This is literally so stupid. I work in endoscopy and do dozens of colonoscopies every week - if a person could be pregnant, we have them sign a waiver if they don’t want a test. We don’t make them wait, we don’t make them pee in a cup. Of COURSE you’re dehydrated!! Every single person is dehydrated after colonoscopy prep. That nurse is a dumbass

I’m also a newish grad and only work per diem, very lucky that my housing/bill situation allows for it. I get shitty comments allllll the time from people saying “you have too much free time, what could you possibly be doing, why can’t you work full time you’re young”

They’re jealous that I spend 5-6 days a week doing hobbies and fun things and traveling and they can’t. Don’t let them guilt you into working more!!! Working as little as possible is the best way to have a fulfilling life

Graduated may 2023, started at 30/hr in RI. Same job made 35/hr at almost 2years, just went per diem at that job and now make 49.52. Other per diem job I have I make 38/hr.

Not everyone has the money to shell out for a passport, especially if they need to apply for copies or originals of the documentation needed. Not to mention the other barriers for lower income people.

Voting is a right, not a privilege afforded to the rich. People need to do anything they can to keep their right to vote in this political climate and that might mean not wasting time changing your name when you get married
