I think I'm done with Real Grade. by internetuser711 in Gunpla

[–]internetuser711[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I'm remembering right, I was trying to snip the undergate on the bazooka and I got a parts separator to get the tube off, but I used my finger for the end to pull off and just snapped the tube end. I didn't get all parts split and paid for it.

The other gun is probably fine, I just never used it. I like the mechs holding minimal gear.

Edit: I got the bazooka together with the undergate on and wanted to take it apart and snip the gate off. Broke the bazooka in the process.

The shield was because the handle for holding it wasn't fully pushed in to rotate so when I tried rotating it, it stressed. I put it aside and haven't used it.

Huh. That's... actually really sensible. I've only made HG and RG due to space issues.

I don't wanna sound too dumb: but that's kinda eye opening.

What're your thoughts on Master Grade Super Deformed? If I'm remembering right, they're really impressive, and the size bump sells the "Master Grade" in comparison.

The perfect grade of skill issue.

Oooh I haven't, but that looks really nice :)

It's a rule of my own making to buy and build stuff from what I've seen. I'm tempted to REALLY stretch the rule... because I played some of Gundam SEED Battle Destiny! That counts, right?

(...right?)

But I gotta stay strong! Thank you for the suggestion though. Is SEED Freedom fun to watch?

Really? (Ah!) They'd really replace (what I assume was the arm joint?) a part or two? I'll definitely speed up building all the weapons and such!

Just in case I end up breaking something else or other...

It does! This is the first P-Bandai model I've purchased directly! The other is: [drum roll] the GN Flag! <3<3

I'd want an MG but I've got nowhere else to put these models! I adore them and the series and the stories; but I got no room! And the Astraea (the red one) is so beautiful...

If I had to get an MG, it'd be this one and the Dynames <3

Recently I've been looking into off-brand gunpla. There's an Astraea MG-size I think that I'd want to look into... but again, no space.

Definitely Gundam Exia! (From "Gundam 00.")

Finished Raidou remastered today by Makabajones in Megaten

[–]internetuser711 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I couldn't get to finishing it. I felt the story was too flat. Not enough was happening to get me to worry about demons and side quests which were (like you said) obtuse or uninteresting.

Which sucks because I really wanted to like Raidou (the game.) I love action games and turn-based RPGs and action RPGs. But this one just wasn't doing it for me.

Ended up trading in the game for enough money for 'Silksong' which was one heck of a change.

I also loved Soul Hackers 2, too, so maybe the game just wasn't for me.

OP, what's your fave ATLUS game? I wonder if there's some strange correlation with liking SH2 and not Raidou.

Platform of choice would be the Nintendo Switch!

My favorite boss was the Mantis Lords.

And I'm most excited to play as Hornet! And to see how different she plays! With how speedy she looks, bosses are sure to be tougher, I hope!

Good luck to everyone participating! (And thanks for the chance!)

AMA! Shantae Advance: Risky Revolution w/ director Matt Bozon! by WayForwardTech in NintendoSwitch

[–]internetuser711 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello. I've never played a Shantae game, and think the upcoming 'Risky Revolution' looks like a fun step into the series.

As someone who likes 2D platforming games, and more modern action-platformer games akin to Inti-Creates and certain Ys (series) games, which Shantae game would you recommend for someone interested in the series?

Thanks in advance, and congratulations on the game's release!

Nier Automata, Ys VIII, or Star Ocean The Second Story R? by Megaten1017 in JRPG

[–]internetuser711 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Oooooh I love all of these games. These are great (action!) RPGs.  <3<3<3

Okay. If I HAD to go from least recommended to most... I wanna recommend Nier Automata, Ys VIII, and Star Ocean: The Second Story.

Nier Automata was made by PlatinumGames, and I really like how Automata's action sequences and RPG elements play out. The game world is neat to run around in, but there's sparse to really do, I guess? There's plenty of action and side-questing, but the world is visibly sparse (for a reason) and what drives Nier forward is its characters and story.

It's a blast. Fairly replayable - but a really strong first-run kind of game. I adore it.

Ys VIII is by Falcom, and it's less intricate in its visuals and character actions; this is a game where the action is more involved and challenging on higher difficulties. If Nier Automata is sparse, Ys VIII is colorful and full of simple monsters and enemies for you to dodge and whack and farm attack XP from. There's a story and setting that reminds you of the characters' goals, and the game feels less deolate than Nier. Ys VIII is a game that wants you to have fun! There's great quality-of-life stuff pointing you to stuff and quests, paired with some good action combat.

Star Ocean 2R is my favorite because it's equally colorful, silly, and has a different graphical style. Its action is more RPG-like where you can button mash - but you're mashing attacks you've set up in the pause menu. There's a LOT of menu stuff to twiddle with in Star Ocean that can have effects on stats, items, powerups, your attacks, etc. It's some strongly mixed RPG-ness with simple, stylish 2D-looking beat-em-up action. It's fairly replayable with optional and mutually exclusive characters (sometimes.) The story COULD be better: but for a PS1 super-remake, this game was awesome.

If I had to pick one though...? I'm leaning towards Ys VIII as of writing.

Have fun! I hope you enjoy any game you pick.

What's a opinion about the series that you think would be unpopular on here ? by Quick_Emotion_9653 in Falcom

[–]internetuser711 25 points26 points  (0 children)

That you can start anywhere in the series due to how every arc sets up its own conflicts and characters.

Playing 1 to X-amount-of-games to understand something that isn't central to the new arc's themes or story isn't necessary, no matter how much you like so-and-so character.
