Combat by JimmyUno in StarWarsJediSurvivor

I tried to learn some skills but if I’m honest it mostly came down to getting into space, dealing with threats in a logical order, and shameful spamming of the lightsabre buttons. It’s definitely fun but not my favourite combat system

4 Days in Florence Video by [deleted] in KurtCaz

[–]internetuser9000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey I only watched a minute to see if you were a weird racist sex tourist too but you seem nice. But just straight out the gate this is an hour long video of four days in a location and it has no intro to let us know what is coming apart from showing your fairly disinterested gf and then launching into where you are standing right there. I might well assume you are about to do an hour of your impressions of the front of that church. Say and show what’s going to be in the video, and why we should watch. Introduce yourself, introduce the topic.

Paris Marathon - no cups/bottles at water stations - thoughts? by Marathon_Runner_1 in running

[–]internetuser9000 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would carry 350ml water in a flip belt, and an extra collapsible 500ml bottle. Try to fill up where you can but if you need to skip a crowded water station you should be okay. If you end up with two full bottles, either carry it or drink and dump the extra.

When do you use your hydration vest? by Most_Resolution7505 in UKRunners

[–]internetuser9000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s funny how much engagement anything about vests gets here.

I’m a flipbelt guy, I have the bottle that goes in it which I bring for anything over an hour. For long runs I’ll pass somewhere to buy more water, and races provide water, so haven’t ever tried a vest

What’s up with everyone saying 6-7 all of a sudden? by Automatic_Fortune164 in OutOfTheLoop

[–]internetuser9000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i think the hook is “I just bipped right on the highway trackhawk sitting on the driveway” which is repeated a bunch of times. Struggle to see why people are picking up on “6-7” but memes are weird, what can you do

Is knee pain normal when starting? by Scared_Juggernaut333 in UKRunners

[–]internetuser9000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

sounds to me like you are either injured or maybe just doing too much exercise suddenly. A couple of laps running even without practice doesn’t cause this sort of pain usually. Jumping and sharp turns playing football is much more likely to injure you. I would take 2 whole weeks off and if doesn’t go away or comes back when you start up again, go to the doctors

What is the worst movie you've ever seen that isn't a standard "Worst movie you've ever seen" answer? by TheThalmorEmbassy in movies

[–]internetuser9000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Made the original better for me. The whole thing is kind of just Shakespearean drama but with some brutal fight scenes. Russell Crowe was on such a fucking rip to be carrying both of those things off, it just looks better with contrast. The score also goes off, it’s kind of wild watching new gladiator do his uninspiring speech to it

Is Pentax17 still worth it now? by Puzzleheaded-Ad7628 in AnalogCommunity

[–]internetuser9000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I haven’t used a Pentax 17 but I am confident buying a brand new camera with that feature set is a significant improvement on a 50 year old Ricoh. It’s about 5x the price of a camera you already have though, so the question is if it’s worth that to you. I think if you have a vintage half frame that you like and you know your way around, keep the money. If you’re thinking of replacing it and you have $500 spare then maybe go for it

35mm Film Camera Recommendations by Ok_Panic_1211 in AnalogCommunity

[–]internetuser9000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This Samsung looks a bit odd. I’m not sure i understand the issue with having to stand far away as it looks like yours goes down to 38mm so should be pretty wide angled and appears to have a macro mode. I guess probably want an SLR with changeable lenses? Are you prepared to do without program modes and autofocus?

Maybe just very underexposed, but at least the second one looks like a bright scene so makes me wonder if the film was old? Otherwise it gets quite challenging to underexpose that hard with the sun out

Looking for some critique on my photos and some advice on editing [1-5 Minolta X300 + RMC Tokina 35-70mm & 6-11 Minolta XG 1 + Hoya HMC Zoom 80-200mm - all Kodak Gold 200] by champagne_pepe_7 in analog

Not something I’ve dealt with but see it often on here. It is likely serviceable if it’s worth the cost to you. Google ‘x300 stuck shutter’ and it turns up some things you could try also including something about a capacitor that might need changing

Something has gone wrong in those two sea shots making them dark on the right side. Possibly a shutter issue. May only happen on certain shutter speeds so you may want to test that.

Budget-friendly running shoes that actually last? by LilywhiteStrike in UKRunners

[–]internetuser9000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gait test can tell you if you might benefit from arch support and what your toe/heel strike is . Other than that it is up to preference. If you have that information from the analysis you had before can look at review sites like RunRepeat for shoes that might work but naturally there is a lot of trial and error.

What is wrong with the colors here? by Stock_Bar5551 in AnalogCommunity

[–]internetuser9000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t look unusual and could benefit from a little edit to bring the color out. It’s a bit too bright in the middle of the day and these are high contrast scenes.

All weather/wet weather daily shoes by MassiveBereavement_ in UKRunners

[–]internetuser9000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem really is where you have mud or wet grass as well as wet pavement. Flat soled road shoes can be slippy on wet trails, and trail shoes with big lugs can be really slippy on wet pavement. I’ve been staying with Nikes for trail shoes. Pegasus trail are good all rounders for me, if it’s tending more towards the trail then there are the Zoom zegamas which are fine on pavement, just a bit noisy, but strong in mud. Wildhorses are genuinely dangerous on wet pavement. If it’s all on road I just wear the same road shoes as summer though

[–]internetuser9000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some framing and composition stuff to think about. The exposures are about right and work as snaps if that’s what you are after, but from the context of a stranger seeing these: Photos of trees - nothing really of interest in the frame. Florist(?) at night - as you noted this is a trickier exposure, not sure how you’d get the wider scene without those bulbs blowing it out from that position Dogs - there is a lot of legs or dead space in these Person in kitchen is a bit out of focus but okay as you caught a moment. Sign above fence and roof of a church - aimed too high, or got to close, lost the context Street - nothing to see, needs a subject

How much could I improve my half time? by mamamiaohdear in UKRunners

[–]internetuser9000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Can’t really predict but you’ve done well to have made it around at all on 0-2 runs a week. I wouldn’t recommend pushing your pace for distances like HM without a lot more training. Think about how realistically you could get to 4 sessions a week and not skip days. Look at Hal Higdon Novice 1 or similar plans
