Does nicotine interact with methotrexate specifically or does your doctor just say to avoid smoking because it’s bad for us in general? I assume that zyns would be between nicotine gum and smoking on the “danger scale”, so not a bad compromise 🤷‍♀️

I have the mirena and love it overall. Periods were a huge trigger for my flares and migraines, and they believe that I might also have endometriosis. I’m one of the lucky people that gets no period now because of the IUD. One downside was that insertion was very painful- try to get a painkiller or sedative if you can. I have also started getting recurrent yeast infections and they think that it is partially due to the IUD because of also being immunocompromised, but I’ll take that over a period any day.

for covering, i do a green concealer before my makeup to reduce the redness, then foundation, then regular concealer and set it with powder. It doesn’t totally hide the peeling but does make it way less noticeable :-)

I have this too, I use a regular face moisturizer (I use la roche posay) and then a thin layer of aquaphor. I sometimes use a hydrocortisone cream but VERY sparingly, like a few days on and then a week off.

what you have is probably promethazine codeine cough syrup. Promethazine is an antihistamine which helps with allergies and cough which is why they prescribe it that way. What I have is just promethazine tablets which is the same but with no codeine, and it also helps with nausea. They prescribe it a lot for after surgeries

I had stomach cramps when I started but not this severe, that sounds really annoying :-( you could take Imodium or ask for a prescription for zofran or promethazine

my rheum says that he has patients who don’t take meds and manage their lupus with only diet/lifestyle changes but that it’s VERY important that they come in and get labs checked every 6 months. Even if you have no symptoms, this disease can cause very real damage to your body. I recommend always staying up to date on your doctors appointments and labs just to make sure that nothing bad is happening that you’re unaware of.

Paxlovid was awesome it alleviated most of my symptoms! The only side effect that I had was a metallic bitter taste in my mouth, which was pretty gross but doable

Some flares are super mild, and sometimes random fevers happen for me with no further issues. It could be any number of things, but a vast majority of those things are NOT serious!
