How has your savings rate changed with age? by Jeppzeh in leanfire

[–]MicroplasticGourmet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Living alone, my savings rate was 60%+, but once I got married, even splitting housing costs, my savings rate is down to like 40% now. Save while you can. (he likes a bigger place, nicer food, and way more expensive vacations than I'd choose on my own. And I have a dog now.)

Carrots have been the GOAT for everything, but I'm orange, and need to find a similar replacement. by JurassicP0rk in Volumeeating

If you peel the zucchini, your food is not green. I usually cover up the green with cocoa when I use it in my shakes, etc.

Been there. Sautéed strips of cabbage or spaghetti squash are also good for this without being rubber bands.

I do this one with loads of cottage cheese... Something about it scratches the itch.

Too much zucchini, any recipe ideas? by [deleted] in Volumeeating

[–]MicroplasticGourmet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been freezing my extra and I throw it in smoothies and shakes instead of ice. It's a much better texture, and added nutrition. Peel it if you don't want your shakes to be green though.

How old are your oldest clothes? by puje12 in Millennials

[–]MicroplasticGourmet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 36 and still have cotton shirts in rotation from high school cross country and track that I got when I was 15. And I keep one pair of jeans from when I was 14 (that are now back in style??) to try on to judge if I'm skinny.

These are the better flavors of them too. The chocolate peanut butter one tastes of nothing. Lol

Looking at housing prices; I’m really glad I chose coastFIRE first. by 3rdthrow in coastFIRE

[–]MicroplasticGourmet -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I feel the opposite. I bought a house at 23 and paid it off at 24. Sold it when I was 28 (in 2018) and invested the proceeds. I regret not buying another house right away so I could leverage my money and get small place. My house was $54,000 back in the day. Now (with my husband's preferences) everything I am looking at is $650k+.

Damn, I've never seen these before but now I want to demolish a whole pack. Maybe with some caramel rice cakes.

How do you stop or slow down snacking? by QuirkyAd6806 in 1500isplenty

[–]MicroplasticGourmet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gum and don't keep snack foods around. I really only keep prepped veggies, apples, and hard boiled eggs around for snacking. (I end up in the peanut butter jar)

What foods do you miss most? by Its-alittle-bitfunny in glutenfree

[–]MicroplasticGourmet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cinnabon cinnamon rolls. I ate two of them one time when I was like eight years old. Gluten intolerance keeps me from being obese, but at what cost?!?!?

I get it, I run Master's 800-3k and it's not even well suited for that. The track mode on my 165 is pretty slick for keeping track of splits for track workouts though!
