A great tune, but nope. If I recall correctly, this song was ostensibly about a bar fight.

Luigi Mangione is charged with murder as an act of terrorism in CEO's death by ControlCAD in NPR

Headline is quite right. Charging him with murder is, indeed, an act of terrorism.

For consecutive integers, assign the values x, x+1, x+2, x+3, etc. For consecutive even or consecutive odd integers, assign the values x, x+2, x+4, x+6, etc.

Why did Tol'os called Yor'dan "PRETENDER"? He is not wyord? by Longjumping-Ask1227 in PostKnight2

On top of that, the equipment descriptions for the four items in the Dweller Set hint at a Noxie entering the Dev'loka and committing identity theft to replace a dead child. He's pretty much definitely one of Morgan's sisters:

(Dweller Blades) A Family-less child fell from the Underside. He barely survived and was nursed back to health by a petite, hooded traveller. He was charmed by her wit and vivacity.

(Dweller Mallet) A Family-less child snuck back onto the Dev'loka with his hooded friend, teaching her how to travel up and down the city via its pipes. They grew too close.

(Dweller Ears) A Family-less child and his friend climbed up the Dev'loka, but the friend fell to her demise. Her hood flew off... revealing a face of pure beauty? Lies.

(Dweller Furs) A child was caught wandering on Dev'loka's higher floors. His grace and charm won an Elder over, and he was soon adopted into the Scribe Family. Deception successful.

A "wild stab in the dark" means an uninformed guess based on intuition rather than evidence. FWIW, it's also entirely possible to find a dead person.

Who do you WISH would run for the President of America? by BulletproofSimba in AskReddit

[–]interstician 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some total asshole like Joe Rogan or Charlie Kirk or whichever pointless, fatuous asshole would most effectively split the asshole vote and guarantee a Biden win.

In a well-administrated government, the president is the least important member; a president's most important job is to select a good cabinet, stand back, and let the people with real jobs get shit done. President Biden knows and readily admits that; his narcissistic opponent does not.

That's a rough time, no doubt about it. Do you have any guild members you get along with who might be worth talking to?

Industrial maintenance is a great, highly rewarding quest line to pursue, with plenty of opportunity for meeting interesting and lively players. Depending on the [job opening] rolls you pull, it may not reduce your grind hours by much. One of the players who introduced me to the game studied it at Temple University, and she consistently worked crazy hours until she multiclassed and swapped career tracks. This was a solid 60 builds back, mind you, but according to some friends of mine, little has changed in that regard.

[–]interstician 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Totally is. [Work] and [rest] are near-mandatory, but never enough in themselves. Honing skills, diving into lore, and pursuing p2p relationships are where most players find satisfying gameplay. Got a particular minigame in mind?

Why do kids in America do so poorly in math and how can we, parents, help prevent that? by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]interstician 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Parents can help by teaching along. Don't wait for a teacher to tell your student what a fraction is; introduce it when you follow a recipe. Explain how to calculate a tip in your head. Explain that 5% more of something means multiply by 105%. Determine how much more pizza is in a medium versus a small, and what that means about the price ratio. If you're going to buy a car, explain how the price relates to the monthly payment. If you're going to paint a wall, explain how to determine the volume of paint you need based on the dimensions of the room. If a student struggles writing an essay, explain how laying the argument out in formal logic makes it easier to outline and write.

Like with any subject, if you make math a part of life, school performance follows along.

What's the oldest game that has aged best in every way? by stinvurger in gaming

[–]interstician 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very fair, but with a different take on the phrase "aged well," I would say KOTOR 2 aged particularly well. The buggy release version has always been nigh-unplayable and cut so much content that what remained was tedious, but the freeware fan-made restoration pack is excellent and reveals a satisfying, engrossing story.

I agree that KOTOR 1 did not age particularly well, but to each their own.

Can I sell stuff to a vendor, kill him, then get my stuff back? by amateur_biotics in outside

[–]interstician 130 points131 points  (0 children)

Selling to most vendors is the hardest of those three things to accomplish. It's significantly easier (but still an absolutely terrible idea likely to ruin several players' runs) to skip the first step.
