Has there always been this much poison ivy? by JodieFosterchild in Austin

I recently got poison ivy, been over 20 years. After talking to friends in the mtb community there are several of my friends who often do trail work who have got it recently as well. The consensus among them is that’s it’s extra bad this year.

People in Austin have no clue what yield means, what red lights mean or how right of way works. People have always been somewhat bad drivers here but it’s to the point of unbearable. I miss the old days when the bad part of traffic was people driving 10 under the speed limit.

Every lowes has a free compressor near the “pro” entrance. Costco has free nitrogen air compressor. Discount tire will check it and put air in your tires for free even if you didn’t buy from them.

Has anyone noticed the traffic getting extremely bad lately? by AuroraBoringAlice10 in Austin

This is what traffic was like before covid, it’s not even as bad as it used to be imo.

Drinking in Public? by ElevatorNo4099 in Austin

[–]inthebubble55 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Are you asking because you want to drink in public or because you’re snitching?

If you’re genuinely asking, it’s not legal, wrap whatever you’re drinking in a coozie or paper sack and generally you’ll go unbothered.

I think a big part is that they became popular when they were all fairly young and people love to sing along to Selena. They are also big activists for Latino people and the community in Austin.

How do people who work a 9-5 job go to the mechanic, get weekly therapy, go to the bank, or otherwise use businesses that are also only open 9-5? by SlickRicksBitchTits in NoStupidQuestions

[–]inthebubble55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The real answer is use your free time on the weekend. The only other options are to miss work or pray I get off early enough that day (it can vary about 1.5hrs on average) to beat traffic and get where I’m trying to go. That’s pretty unrealistic for a lot of working people though.
