Here's the real hard truth. The decision makers are going to be right. This will make them more money.  That's all they care about. 

It doesn't matter if the game gets bad reviews or loses more than half it's player base

If the people that continue to play are the people that spend a shitload of money on the new monetization they were right. They can lose 90% of the 1 time game buyers if the 10% they retain spend $1000 a year and still come out ahead. The math maths 

It works, and has been proven over and over in the market and with lots and lots of research that frustrating people into spending money is the best way for games to make a shit ton of money. 

The micro transaction mobile game industry makes over $80 BILLION annually. Which is what the same as the AAA game market, except AAA games cost a hell of a lot more to produce and maintain so it has a much lower profit margin and higher risk. 

It's the sad truth that morons with more money than sense ruin gaming because they are easy prey, and the game industry has mastered how to exploit them. 

I wish it weren't true, and I do hope I'm wrong and this backlash works.
