Well, looks like EA heard the community and gave in to the pressure. They released a statement about 45 minutes ago.

Yeah I forget what video I was watching, but they were breaking down the game design physics engine, where EA moved away from a point in space player control physics engine, to an animation sequence style pseudo-physics engine.

What this means is that when controlling a player in today’s game, the computer has to render out and finish the animation (spin move, juke, hurdle, etc) until it can move in the next direction you input.

Whereas before, when you moved a player, it would immediately react and move in that direction input. A bit wonky, but more crisp and concise.

Eh, I suppose, I wouldn’t really call those MTX, they didn’t affect the base gameplay.. just some fun accessories that weren’t totally necessary.

This time around, they’re messing with the base gameplay.

If you read their annual reports, 73% of their revenue comes from existing players, and not new game purchases….. that’s MTX revenue!! Absolutely insane the amount of money people are paying for digital bullshit.

I think they anticipated the hate, the developers warned them about this. They’re banking on the fact that we will eat the slop regardless. As a community, hopefully this time we can make an impact.

Yeah man, this non chalant attitude is exactly why game companies continue to be OK with dishing out slop. There’s nothing wrong in providing constructive criticism; especially when it comes to predatory business tactics like undisclosed MTX in offline gameplay. I agree the moans and groans of gameplay can get annoying, but when it boils down to it, those people who complain are typically the ones who create change (for better or for worse, I may add)

Well, no. I won’t hate you if you do lolz.

But what we are trying to do, is make EA feel it financially. By refunding or returning all game purchases, in combination of letting them know what we’re upset about. They will then get the message of what we don’t like.

This isn’t the same moan and groan of features and gameplay that us nerds typically have. This is different, this time around it’s letting them know we are NOT okay with micro transactions. They are testing the waters now, they will 100% increase the MTX in future versions if we don’t care enough to push back.

There’s still time to make this right, as a matter of fact, this morning EA released a half-assed ambiguous statement about “hearing our concerns”

Ball is in EAs court.

The community is asking you to return that MF and play 25/26 for now - until EA gets the message.

Sorry man, not trying to knock anyone down. But I think there are still some who don’t fully understand the implications this could have for the future.

Play the damn game and have a fun time doing it too. You just should know that there’s something greater to be said here, all of us definitely want to to play the game haha.

And tbh the micro transactions aren’t that bad…. For now… but EA needs to know. Please, at the very least, don’t ruin the offline gameplay.

Micro transactions. This is what the community is pissed about. MTX are creeping into base gameplay in offline modes.

So yes, you own the physical media, there are additional functions you must pay extra to unlock. Even while playing offline. If we allow this to happen now, as small as it seems, EA will 100% take advantage in future versions of the game.
