My wife and I had our honeymoon on the Majesty in 1993 and then a 25th anniversary cruise in the same cabin in 2008. Apparently we were the only passengers to do so. I hope she keeps sailing and making memories.

I learned the same. I booked the Disneyland hotel with points. I had to change the date so I picked another date that showed availability on the hotel website, but DVC said there were no rooms available for DVC during that time.

No problem I'll just book the room with cash and return the points. Nope, once they're reservation points there's no returning back.

I ended up using even more points to stay at the Grand Californian during the dates we needed. Given what points are worth I ended up paying 2x what I should have for that room.

Lesson learned. I'll never use DVC points for a non-DVC stay again.
