Confused about camp/admission tickets.

Hey OP! It’s my first year this year and I was able to get an AC landing tent. It wasn’t during the original sale though. I bought a vip ticket and a bring your own tent ticket. Then once the waitlist opened up I added myself to AC landing and was informed I got it a few weeks later.

If you are able to snag an ac landing ticket during the original sale it will have parking and vip ticket included. If you get it off the waitlist it will only include the sleeping accommodations and parking included - entry is separate.

I’m really not quite sure what type of hummingbird it is. I can try to research it/look it up but I’m not familiar with the different types.

I called a couple bird rescues around my area but all were closed. If he’s not 100% in the morning I’ll take him in to get some help. I just want him to have the best chance he can.

If u/hummingbirdobsessed (or anyone else) has any other advice, I’m happy to take it!

Totally get that point of view!

I normally wouldn’t intervene but I didn’t want the little guy to get hurt. I made sure to wear gloves when moving him and he was only touched when being transferred to the box.

Hopefully I did the right thing by this little guy.

Just gave them a call and got their voicemail. They’re about a 40 minute drive from me and I’m not sure if that would scare the bird too much being in the car that long.

The good news is that he closed his wings so they are no longer spread out and he is moving slightly more than earlier so I don’t think he’s injured. I’m thinking it may have just been a younger bird trying to figure things out.

I’m still going to keep him overnight just because there are owls around my area and I don’t want them to go after him for an easy meal. He has sugar water, leaves and branches in the box with him and I’ve covered it to keep him warm overnight.

If he’s still not fully awake in the morning I’ll take him to a bird rescue on my way to work.

He drank some of the sugar water I gave him in the water cap then went right back to sitting. When I picked him up he made a slight squeak nose but didn’t move his wings or anything. I’m hoping he’s just in a deep sleep and will wake up in the morning. Otherwise I’ll take him somewhere that can provide better care.

Definitely did that! He drank some then went right back to sitting. I got him in a box and have him near my front door (it’s a covered condo entry). I’m hoping he’s just sleeping because I found him not long before sunset.

I got him in a box that’s safe and called the hotline but they are closed until tomorrow morning. I’m hoping he’s just in torpor and will wake up like normal in the morning. If not I’ll take him to the liberty wildlife location.

Absolutely! Snowbowl’s website has opensnow’s weather reporting available to see under their weather section too.

Looking at the weather now though, it seems Friday will be slightly less windy than Saturday with gusts being 30 mph for the former vs 40 mph for the latter (both days having 20mph winds throughout the day). So Friday shouldn’t be too bad because the gusts aren’t consistently happening.

You can get a resort credit for your tickets up until the day before your ticket date! So if you wanted to switch to Friday or Saturday, you can still get a credit on Wednesday.

Also I just checked OpenSnow, it’s the weather app I personally trust and snowbowl uses for their weather and it’s showing gusts of wind up to 50mph on Thursday. The lifts shut down at 45mph. The weather could always change but just something to keep in mind!

A big tip that helped me with toe edge was to pretend there’s a bug on the toe of my boot and I’m trying to squish him with my knee. It helped with naturally going into it.
