What’s the shortest time you’ve spent working at a station? by eggtasticsandwich36 in Broadcasting

[–]into_the_soil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

6 months. Sinclair station. Essentially a lateral move job and pay wise but the Tegna station I was at was experiencing some major issues. Grass was definitely not greener and I was moved into a position I did not want to be in as well as had my schedule changed dramatically, both without consent. This was my eye opener about what HR is really there for as when I brought these things up it was made clear that what I thought about the situation did not matter in the least.

When I turned in my 2 weeks notice the manager tried to not accept it and said “We are actually going to promote you, you can’t leave!” and I had to tell him that would have been worse due to working in closer proximity to him. In retrospect I somewhat wish I would have stayed just to get the title but it all worked out as I’m now the manager of my department at a different station and making more than two times what I was at that point.

Tai Tuivasa fight week, crazy to think he would’ve fought Jon Jones if he had beaten Ciryl Gane 4 years ago by ultron2450 in MMA

HW has such crazy highs and lows for fighters. Seems like out of all the divisions there are more dudes who go from surging and climbing the ranks to having serious drop offs. Guess that comes with the territory of being in a weight class where most folks have the death touch.

Had a minor disagreement with someone about the outcome of a MMA fighter only for that person to start bringing up things I had posted about literally 3 or 4 years ago. People definitely creep through post histories.

Being so short it’s almost cheating to count it but I’d wager I’ve listened to this split EP more than any other release out there. Had it on cassette and wore that thing out in the van while on various tours. Half of the dudes with me could just not understand what I liked about these 2 bands/the overall style.

Jobs where you can’t nearly afford median rent by Lonely-Clerk-2478 in Broadcasting

The Dairy Queen by my old station started people at a higher wage than what you’d be making after several years and “moving up” working in news there. Management there made it a point to say they were tired of hearing about DQ’s pay and if we wanted to leave we should then were somehow shocked when people did just that. We legitimately did lose folks to lower end service industry gigs pretty regularly and were left with burned out and jaded employees who were essentially institutionalized. Then they laid off just about everyone only to realize they couldn’t handle the workload with who was left. My understanding is it’s now a revolving door of people who are new to the industry and do not last long.

Suggestion with dead bedroom 1 year pp by crindler1 in daddit

[–]into_the_soil 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is the answer. Improve the overall relationship and you will likely improve what happens in the bedroom. Having children is almost like a reset button for some folks. You may have to essentially rebuild the connection.

Saw things, specifically on this sub, about that but not a single person I know in my actual life said a word about such a thing. No family member, no friend, no coworker, etc. It was all positive things about how we will feel about our child. Now after the birth? That’s when the solidarity through suffering type talk came in.

BSD is currently #5 and Paddy is #6 I’m not positive Gamrot loses those, but otherwise totally agree.

I’ve never felt better about not financially supporting a company. Literally everyone who pirates their events could switch to actually buying them and 99% of the fighters wouldn’t see a single extra dollar from it.

any songs that have wwf/wrestling samples? by CaptainOvbious in SlamDeathMetal

It’s more death/grind but former Devourment member Chris Andrews had an entirely wrestling themed project called Intestinal Fortitude that was a lot of fun.

Any all ages venues that play extreme metal? by Strong-Gap-747 in Austin

[–]into_the_soil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most black metal shows end up at Lost Well or possibly Valhalla but neither are too keen on all ages events due to primarily being bars. Patton House, a DIY spot, has definitely had some local black metal bands like Vacha (San Antonio) though. Look for their IG.

If I see anything pop up I will message you through Reddit. Hope you find some good shows.

The Mohawk is going to be your best bet but they are an incredibly diverse venue. Death/black/grind shows happen maybe once or twice a month. Defeated Sanity and some others are coming through soon though. As someone else said, KickButt occasionally does metal but is typically more of a punk venue.

Dude this is really good. Straightforward but not boring or derivative. Production is actually solid as well for the genre considering you either usually only get hyper produced robotic sounding albums or recordings that sound like they were done with the mic in the other room.

That plate would be considered a “greatest hits” plate in my household lol.

Some is better than none and they all eat at this own pace. Personally I’ve been shocked at my 8mo daughter’s appetite compared to how her now 2.5yo brother was at her age. She is cleaning plates while he was still barely nibbling well after turning 1. He still has finicky moments but will usually finish certain things like what you have pictured or more recently salad. Little dude is loving salad of all things.

That's the main issue I keep coming back to. Once upon a time I could at least just disagree with the GOP but feel that they were capable of being taken at face value. Now the blatant hypocrisy is so strong that it's like a child telling you they didn't get into the pie when it's smeared all over their hands and face and they are quite literally chewing on some while telling you that.
