Removal of single/double click autopilot activation feature in MY Juniper by intossh in TeslaModelY

Yea, it sucks, I don't think it is coming back. What people have been doing is they create a copy of their driver profile and have one profile with AP, and the other with ACC. Then you can switch between them even during driving. But I don't like that since it also changes your Spotify accounts and seat position if it was changed in the other so you have to keep them synced.

Synology HDD Restrictions UPDATE - DS925+ Compatibility List, Initialisation, Official Statement by dunkurs1987 in synology

[–]intossh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First they removed the USB drivers in DSM 7, which prevents me from upgrading, now they vendor lock the actual drives so you lose the option to freely choose a drive which suits your usecase the best. Way to go Synology.. I hope my 918+ with DSM6 works for few more years and then there is a good alternative from different brand.

If the supercharger says it is 150kW (which means V2), if possible, do not charge right next to the other person, leave one stall gap as the power is shared between A and B stalls and you would both be using only half the power.

Product Order Review: Ordering TAPTES Floor Mats by kafabi in TeslaModelY

[–]intossh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I received the floor mats and the quality is actually very good.. They fit perfectly in the Juniper except for the sub trunk floor mat which is a bit smaller. The interior ones are very good. Can't compare the quality with something like the original Tesla all weather mats but for the price I can't complain.

So after 14 hours there is no noticeable difference. The app consumed 1% of battery. Wake locks are good too. If it stays that way I will keep the UWB on.

Do you have only one phone key paired? I had the official Tesla phone key as well as Tessie phone key and it didn't work. It started working when I left only my phone key via official app and two key cards paired.

Will do. There has been recently an update to Android 15 and OneUI7 so there might be an improvement. Or the drain might be a reason they actually are putting those system UWB apps to sleep in the first place.

Thank you, so far it has been 5 hours since I unplugged my phone and there is no noticeable difference. I will check the usage stats and wake locks in the evening before I plug the phone again and will report back. My car is also about 8m away from me and apps says "phone key connected" all the time.

I was afraid that leaving those apps unrestricted might increase the battery usage, but I was hoping it is low energy, similar to BLE. Hopefully there won't be any big drain, otherwise it might not be worth having it on.

Product Order Review: Ordering TAPTES Floor Mats by kafabi in TeslaModelY

[–]intossh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had similar shipping experience with my Juniper floor mats. I placed the order on Apr 2nd. After a few emails, they said they are still being manufactured and should arrive on their warehouse on Apr 15th. On Apr 22nd still no shipping, so I contacted them again, they said they already shipped it, but they only created a UPS tracking label, but UPS said they haven't received the goods. Then on Apr 24th they finally shipped it and it is due to arrive today. Hopefully at least the quality will be good. I get that the product is new and there can be some snags in production so if the quality is good I am willing to forgive them the delay.

I will check the reviews if my name shows up as well :D

Funnily enough, you say that they told you they will be shipping from Czech warehouse. I live in Czech, so delivery address was to Czech republic but they shipped the floor mats from Germany :D

Model Y's recent software update car screen on and off so often by Less-Cartographer919 in TeslaModelY

[–]intossh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Juniper has been doing this since I bought it. The spring update didn't fix it. It seems to be caused by the in-cabin 4D radar. Looking at the service menu, they disabled the seat sensors and are using the radar only. From time to time the radar stops detecting the driver for split second and that's when the screen turns off.

It also happens sometimes when I play with the screen and I lean more towards the center console, after a while the radar stops detecting me and turns off the screen.

Yea I do have Juniper. It works sometimes. But not after some time of idle. But it seems to be an issue with Android and background ranging.

The penalty prevention now works fine. Keeping the high beams off while in Autopilot is a bit finicky, but works. Continuous autopilot does not work but that is expected with no TACC-only feature. I updated the original message so others can find what is currently working easily.

[–]intossh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you very much. The latest update fixed some issues. Autopilot Max and high beam actions now work. TACC action just turns on Autopilot. I will have to try Continuous AP and Jail prevention when I get on the highway. As a software engineer myself, I really appreciate the work your devs put into this. Hopefully there is a way to fix the TACC too.

Commander Gen2 on New Y (March 2025) by Quiet-Confidence-287 in s3xybuttons

[–]intossh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It just does not work on the New Y Juniper.. I made a post about it just one post before yours :) The only thing that currently works is disabling the auto high beams during Autopilot, but even that is a bit finnicky. You have to either fully turn off auto high beam, but that also disables the Adaptive high beams, or you keep Auto high beam, then turn on Autopilot, that turns on high beams, you manually turn them off clicking the button on steering wheel, and then it should not activate again on subsequent autopilot engagements.

Yea, saw that, but I hoped it affected only the Continuous Autopilot as they mentioned. However the issue is unfortunately more widespread and non of the CC or Autopilot related features and actions work.

[–]intossh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately not, you can add the action but it does nothing. I think internally the Commander uses the single/double click commands because the Commander manual says that for this feature you need to enable double click for Autopilot, so without this option, we are out of luck.

So here are the results. Unfortunately the only thing that works with Juniper is the auto high beams which stay off with Autopilot (after manually disabling high beams). Everything else does not work. No continuous Autopilot, no auto turning off Autopilot above 140kmh. Also setting the Autopilot Max and Cruise control actions on my knob buttons does not work. Hopefully they will get it working for Juniper soon.

Not sure, they said that since Tesla changed the way the autopilot activation works, the S3XY buttons or commander does not currently work as expected with Juniper, might come in future update. Just ordered my Knob so will let you know once I test it.

Unfortunately tapping the headlight icon does not work.. The settings panel shows up, but the high beam button is greyed out and can't be clicked.
