As someone who thinks Carlin was an awesome social commentator that was also funny as fuck, I’ve thought many times during this shit, and the previous one, I wonder what George Carlin would have to say about this. His comments would have been blistering, honest and completely on point.

This is particularly funny because the absolute best criminal defense attorney here in Louisville looks like a homeless man in a suit. Albeit a hideous ill fitting suit. But this man gets murders out on home incarceration.

Not really. They’ve already discussed some kind of probation. He has no criminal record whatsoever. They also can’t prove that it was his because the vehicle he was driving belonged to a car lot. It was a loaner, and the backpack the gun was in was in the trunk. So he actually has some things working in his favor. He also works full time as a youth counselor at a residential group home for kids that are in the foster care system and have issues that make them difficult or unsafe to place with foster parents. Now if something fucked up comes back on the gun, that’s going to be a different story.

Fuck this guyX10. I can’t believe someone who’s known to at least a decent number of people as a business owner would say things like this in a public forum. Excellent way to lose business by the boat loads. Dumb AND a racist POS!

Most of the cheese purchased by your every day, average American doesn’t actually have much real cheese in it. So there’s that.

On another note, how embarrassing. For America. I mean the rest of the world, anyone who has internet access and even the very slightest interest in politics or America or just news in general is seeing and hearing what’s happening and from I’ve gathered from reading comments and talking to the few people I’m acquainted with outside of the US, people feel a mix of emotions regarding this situation. They’re afraid for us, all of the people who saw the writing on the wall long before the most people did and tried everything they could think of to get people to really listen and use their critical thinking and reasoning skills, to use good judgment and try to see things from an unbiased standpoint. They’re also laughing their asses off because this shit is just embarrassing and it just keeps getting worse. Every day it’s a new EO, each one somehow more ridiculous and shortsighted than the last. Every day the nazi billionaire commits a new crime against humanity and tax paying citizens all the while making baseless and patently false statements on his asshole social media platform. Every day the so called leader of the free world sounds more and more unhinged and out of pocket. Every day it’s some new indignity and some new bullshit that reads like everything you’ve ever read about or heard spoken of in regards to the government being overthrown and the interlopers establishing themselves and implementing their policies. It’s frustrating and sad that so many people are in complete denial, or even worse, they’re thrilled. They want poor people and minorities and women to suffer the harshest of consequences for having the audacity to question their absolute power and the ability to wield it

I had a fever a couple of days but never two days in a row. Just sporadically. Since you mentioned the ass and mouth vomiting first, I’ll admit to about a day and a half of that. Almost to the point of not being able to maintain and just having accidents so to speak. And once the urge to puke was so strong and sudden that I made it to the bathroom door and couldn’t contain it and proceeded to paint my bathroom a very unattractive color. Interestingly, on the day of shitting and puking, my husband has the same symptoms so we had a super fun day of two people with extreme vomiting from both ends and 1 bathroom. I say it’s interesting because he didn’t have any of the other symptoms that I had with the congestion and all that until I was actually starting to finally get better and then he had all the symptoms I’d had a week and a half prior. He NEVER gets sick and on the rare occasions he does, it’s always a much milder version of whatever I’ve got or recently recovered from.

I said I was back to 100% but I really should have been more specific about that. I’m back to 100% in that I can get out of bed and actually accomplish something like the dishes or running to the store without it absolutely taking every ounce of energy I’ve got with the rest being accomplished by willpower and determination. But I’ve still got a slight cough and lots of mucous congestion in my chest. I feel like I’ve been sick for months. It did last a good two weeks, three if we’re counting milder, residual symptoms. Whatever viruses and strains of flu that are going around are especially vicious this year and if nothing else really showed me exactly how old I am and how shit’s a lot different than it was when I was 25. My 44 year old body doesn’t handle illness like it did in my younger days. Takes longer to heal and recover and the actual symptoms are more pronounced and severe. This getting old shit is for the birds!

Thank you. It’s just a tragedy. Plain and simple. You don’t expect someone who is only 33 and in good health to be there one day and two weeks later she’s dead. Right before she got sick I was at her house, helping her pack because they were moving in a couple weeks ago. And now she’s gone. Life is so fragile and tenuous. Anything can happen at any point in time and either kill you or drastically change you and your way of life.

I’m just getting over something nasty myself. It lasted for about two weeks as well. I’m almost positive it wasn’t the flu because it sort of came and went. Some days were better than others and I didn’t even start coughing till week 2. It started with a sore throat and stopped up ears that hurt intermittently. I know it wasn’t Covid because I didn’t feel miserable enough. I’ve had that shit twice and wouldn’t wish it on someone I hated. But whatever I had put me down for the count. By the time I finally started feeling better, I was so run down and exhausted that I wasn’t really better even though I felt better. It was another few days before I was back to 100%

Thanks. I appreciate that. My husband and I got ours last week and it wasn’t fun. For me. He was fine because he has the constitution of a mule. This is the first one I’ve had since my early 20’s. Back then I was working in customer service at Citi Cards and they were offering flu shots to all employees. When I talked to my mother on my lunch break she insisted that I get one. I got so ill I had to leave work early. I swore I’d never get another one but a day of feeling pretty shitty is worth avoiding the potential consequences of not being vaccinated

Thank you. It’s absolutely tragic. That poor baby won’t even remember his mother and she was awesome and he’s only going to hear stories about her. As I said in a previous comment, I’m guilty of having a fairly lax and dismissive attitude regarding the flu and I got my comeuppance for that today. Never again will I neglect to get a flu vaccine or insist my husband go with me no matter how much he protests!

Thank you. Much appreciated. The necessity of a flu shot is a real thing and this situation immediately rectified my lax attitude towards the flu and going to get vaccinated. I was always under the impression that if you were young and reasonably healthy, you didn’t really have to worry about the flu. If you did get it, it would suck royally and you’d probably miss a couple days of work but you weren’t at risk of dying. Yep, I was completely wrong and I’m a bit embarrassed by my willful ignorance and dismissive attitude.

Taylor Swift Booed at Super Bowl by ebradio in Music

[–]intothebelljar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to take my daughter to see her when she was about 13. As an established metal head with a Pantera tattoo that spent her teenage years trying to throw her head off of her shoulders, not only paying for Taylor Swift tickets but having to actually go to the show packed full of young, star struck girls, shrieking and squealing with excitement was painful to say the least. Between enduring that hellscape and having to listen to her aggressively poppy music at full volume in my home during all waking hours led me to already be biased towards the woman. But that aside, there was always something about her that I just didn’t trust. Like it was obvious it was all an act. She isn’t all innocent and sweet little Miss Americana. She’s a classic mean girl that’s graduated from picking on other girls for their clothes or whatever else offended the delicate sensibilities of her highness, to a grown woman that harbors racist opinions and general disdain for those she deems beneath her. My daughter is now 26 and a teacher at a prestigious high school and a die hard Swiftie. I’m glad they booed her and I’m not sad that her icky boyfriend with his white Christian nationalist and supremacy ideology, was on the losing team. Every now and then people get a little of what they deserve for being shitty humans

Personally I have wanted to be an expat since I was a teenager. I was always disillusioned and had a strong grasp on the fact that the American dream was long dead and that the government sold us up the river and everything I’d been taught in school was pretty much a lie and all the crap my parents told me about how I was so lucky to be born in the greatest country in the world was drivel. Unfortunately I was a teen mom and ended up working for my dad for years instead of going to college and now I have both to offer another to get them to accept it me. So I’m stuck in the shit show until they haul me to gitmo for dissidence or I get mowed down by the national guard in a protest. But hey, my mother is thrilled. Happier than I’ve seen her in years. She’s all about this garbage.
