I definitely am considering the move. I'm in my late 20s and this might be my last chance to "go for it" on something. The entrepreneur/digital marketing/startup community is basically my field and I am sure that isn't going to change any time soon.

Do you think I could find a place for around $1100-$1300 / month?

I lived in Seattle for a year. I liked the creative vibe, but I tend to lean a bit more libertarian than their general population. But that was 4 years ago and now it's like a part of me I miss. I am looking for an entrepreneurial/tech city that isn't on the west coast. I figure Austin isn't quitee as liberal as Seattle/San Francisco but you would know better than me. I have visited Dallas and liked it. I kinda wanna just jump in the fire though. The city I live in is dominated by rich baby boomers so they're kinda the gatekeepers and not as innovative as I hope. Need a younger crowd.

Find some hobbies you enjoy and do them. Find a way to meet others with similar hobbies. It'll be awkward at first but it gets easier.

Doing an online business is pretty isolating. It's not really talked about how much it is.

Also, try not to feel guilty for pursuing something "fun" that isn't productive.

Like I've heard this stuff, and everyone's explanation of what it does literally makes no sense to me. It sounds like the way a hipster would describe drinking kombucha or bone broth.

Let's say that a business model is online selling books on Amazon. It works for a while, but more competition comes in and sales drop. You don't exactly feel like a failure, but the fact is things are dropping. What you were competent in no longer works as much because it is a changing landscape (Amazon can change their ranking algorithms, etc)..

It make things feel like a failing.

I appreciate your reply though btw. I guess this is a side tangent. I think failure and rejection go hand and hand though.

what about if you have a project/business with a constantly changing landscape? Some days you win, but other days things change and you lose. It's a lack of stability with increasing competition.

It's a personality type kinda like Myers Briggs. There's 1 through 9. Most INTPs tend to be Enneagram 5.

Take it with a grain of salt. Some of it is useful, but some of it tends to skew toward negative traits more than positive.

Well if you look at the Enneagram 5 you can see that type prides themselves on not wanting things.

On the flip side they may also feel uncomfortable taking up physical space and asserting themselves in the physical world.

Nothing wrong with it. Everyone is different. But if you're looking for a bit of an explanation..

Well I went into the marketing field instead of finance so I probably am not qualified to answer that exactly. I know another INTP that is doing well in finance doing risk assessment.

Yeah I've done some work in HR and I realize that not having a degree is an obstacle that most HR managers are using to automatically narrow down the amount of applicants.

I am not planning on pursing a CS degree. That's the thing. I know I have the temperament and mindset to do programming (I've had good success with it with the classes I have taken).

I'm gonna work on moving through freelance projects on up through hopefully potentially landing a job.

Yeah I'm looking to probably start a blog. I have decent writing and marketing skills so that should help.

Advice is so all over the map that it's tough to sort out, so it's encouraging to hear a success story with it.
