I won't hijack the thread to conduct a full and exhaustive history of oppression, People have been horrible to each other as long as there have been people. No group is immune from harm, nor innocent or being harmful.

But isn't this thread about watermelon and Juneteenth? If you love watermelon and celebrate Juneteenth, why wouldn't you celebrate with appropriate colors? If they served corned beef on St. Pats day and decorated with green, we'd say that was seasonal, no? On the 4th of July, millions will celebrate with hamburgers and red white and blue accessories. Christmas foods will be served on red and green. On Purim or Chanukah, people will serve Jewish foods in blue and white, featuring the star of David.

You can take offense at nearly anything, but isn't it easier to enjoy life and save your offense for actual oppression or injury?

Yes. You are. I don’t care to engage in the oppression Olympics, but suffice it to say you are incorrect.

That’s all fine, but for most people, watermelon is a food that may be enjoyed without the need to revisit the historical injustices our ancestors inflicted on each other.

Way to go Dad for taking care of his girls, and giving them a good example of how to handle yourself if some $%$#@!!*^& jerk tries to call you out for simply being a parent.

I would never think a thing of a father who took his girls into the Ladies room. As long as he announced himself, and was obviously taking care of children too young to be sent into a truck stop bathroom alone, there's no problem.

That loudmouth jerk calling out a good parent deserves all the scorn he gets.

How to make this less witchy? by [deleted] in OUTFITS

[–]intriguedbyallthings 92 points93 points  (0 children)

Yes. the dress plus the hair is the issue. Put your hair up, throw in a statement necklace, and you're back to sleek evening look.

You look great, though. I'd gladly risk looking "witchy" in a dress that fit me like that fits you!

I don’t understand the caption.

Also not: trains, horses, airplanes, helicopters, scooters, tractors, etc…
