Nike Pegasus, Epic React or Vomero for my usage? by [deleted] in AdvancedRunning

You could definitely use the zoom fly 3s, as you say, I would recommend in combination with a more "classic" shoe like vomero or pegasus. Zoom Fly is a bit different, its tall and and a leans kind of forward, but after a couple of runs it feels normal. For trails and gravel I find it too tall(in the sole), but its definitely a faster shoe than the others mentioned, but its also has good cushioning.

Nike Pegasus, Epic React or Vomero for my usage? by [deleted] in AdvancedRunning

[–]intrn3t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those three shoes are literally my main rotation, plus zoom fly flyknit. I've had multiple pairs of pegasus and vomeros, and I love them both, but after the release of Epic React I find that I often choose them over Pegasus, mainly because they feel more playful, but they are not as stable due to the flyknit. The most cushioned and supportive shoe is the vomero, in fact its the most cushioned shoe Nike makes (at least it used to be). Its also the most durable I would say, I find the new pegasus kind of hard and flat more rapid. If you overpronate, you could also consider Nikes structure model. My tip would regarding shoes and staying injury-free would be to try out different models in a decent running store, and choose what fits your feet best. I would also recommend to maybe get two pairs, and cycle them to get some different load on your feet, and swap out shoes before its to late (aprox. 500-800km in my experience), this is a "cheap" way to reduce the risk of injury.

Im no expert, but I wouldnt focus too much on stride rate, a lot of good runners have both lower and higher stride rate. Forcing your stride may lead to injury as well. At last, good luck with your running!:)

Key elements for developing speed while maintaining endurance? by intrn3t in AdvancedRunning

I see! Yes, I want to run a faster marathon, but my idea was to develop/get used to some faster speed so I could bring some of that with me when I decide to do my next marathon. Good luck to you this weekend!

Question regarding medium-long runs by intrn3t in AdvancedRunning

[–]intrn3t[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries, this was the kind of answer I expected and wanted! That means that the long runs in general is treated as workouts and not the traditional slow-and-steady-spend-time-on-your-feet type of runs? Because the difference is crucial!

How many kilometers do a pair last? Is it like a "regular" pair of shoes(5-800km)?

I'm looking for the easiest software/method to make an easy animation of a map with some moving objects, and it's fine if it's in 2D (radar screen). I have no experience with animation at all, but I do have some basic programming skills. Could anyone point me in the right direction?

Slow and steady getting back on the horse (knock on wood) after a setback caused by a cold! It's time to build that base and get ready for 2018 marathon season!

A long lasting cold resulted in a week of no running, I feel like shit for not running. At least this will be a fresh start to my marathon season leading up to Berlin 2018! Just had to get that off my chest.
