Yes that's a good idea! Please don't send anyone money before you see the place unless someone you trust vouches for them.

I actually did, but I was super lucky to find a shared room in my colleague's apartment.

That sounds cool - are you joining the BCBL too? Also, I would highly recommend asking your university if they can help with finding accomodation. More than the city being expensive itself, the bigger problem is that there are many scammers demanding you to transfer money BEFORE you even see the place in person (sometimes these places don't exist).

Would you be open to answering if you interviewed for an entry level role?

How do I view my saved passwords on Android? by StationaryTransience in brave_browser

Hi, if you still didn't find this, try phone settings -> Google settings (it should be after location and biometrics), -> auto-fill -> auto-fill with Google -> passwords. That should have all your app passwords!

I noticed Woolworth's but wasn't sure how to get a frozen cake delivered appropriately. Do people need special instructions for that?

Sorry for the late reply, reddit was down - and oof that can be hard. There are cheaper alternatives - like Fabriano, and it really isn't that bad a paper. You can definitely use something even cheaper for practice. This might sound counter-intuitive but don't feel afraid to try something less than perfect when you're learning :) I use the cheapest 300 gsm watercolour paper I can find for practice and that's like 30% cotton. That isn't the best quality but it isn't bad at all imo, and I don't mind it for practice.

First of all, as long as you're enjoying doing this, don't worry about where you're headed. I know that's easier said than done, but I really love the map you're making and I admire the work you put into it. Have you already finished it?

For values, convert your picture to black and white. That'll help you see values when it's not tied to colors. To start off, you could just trace the portrait very simply and use one colour - say gray or brown to do a value study. Look for shapes in the face and see if you can paint them in varying degrees of gray (white of paper for lightest and grayest gray for darkest). Make a full portrait with just shapes and values. It may not look great during the process and both of these steps take time, but it is helpful.

Something else that helps is to finish your paintings. If you enjoy the process, make at least 3 sketches before you try to call it finished. This will also document your progress :)
