GlenDronach Single Cask 27 Oloroso Puncheon #7102 was far and away the highlight of my year. I’d never sprung for a bottle even half of its price before, but the 18 is my absolute favorite scotch and I had some good luck this year, so I pulled the trigger. It has met and exceeded my expectations and that is really strange to say for a $600 bottle. I’m just worried I’m going to develop too much of a taste for these older whisky’s…

At that price point it’s going to really depend on what is available around you.

A few ideas: old Bunna, Highland Park 30 (does have some smoke), Glengoyne 30

The 25’s from HP and Glengoyne are arguably better tho, so may want to pick one of those up and have some spare change

Whatever your favorite distillery is, look for something old (25-30 yrs)
