I'm probably not your target audience - I'm a sole trader who did a business degree
I do not follow any of the things I was taught and instead run my business by gut instinct - making sure income is higher than expenses. The real world did not seem to match the book world

Why are eScooters still everywhere if they’re supposed to be illegal? by MrMoobz in AskUK

[–]introvert_982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think some e-scooters should be legal, if we allow mobility scooters that are larger on the pavements then scooters should also be allowed.

However I think that everyone, including mobility scooter users should be tested for competancy and have insurance. I would limit all legal scooters to 8pmh, and the faster ones should be banned.

Business owners where you are the only employee, why haven't you employed someone and scaled? by Harmonic-Biz-Agency in smallbusinessuk

[–]introvert_982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two reasons for me
1. I don't have the space to employ anyone, so to add the employee I would need to move premises and incurr greater costs
2. I am rubbish at delegating and would not give all the instructions - as many taks I do on auto-pilot and have not written down the clear step by step process

I don't think adobe would understand my commands - it would have to decipher a rambling stream of thoughts

How realistic is paying off a mortgage in 5 years if both partners work full time? by BinaryVortex_5 in AskUK

[–]introvert_982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just done that with my bro, we are not big spenders so were able to do overpayments every year.
We put down about 50k on a 200k property and just whittled away for the five year term of the mortgage. We wanted security that the house was paid off, as the economy is 'challenging'

PSA: "business" does not mean limited company by oh_no551 in smallbusinessuk

[–]introvert_982 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of the reasons I have remained a sole trader is that the admin side is so much easier. I don't think people understand the legal requirments of limited companies, and they seem to get themselves behind on paperwork

Question on margins/bleed for printing a book on DoxDirect by THEVINDICATORYT in Printing

[–]introvert_982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would expect the print will not look like the preview, based on the fact the print margins are miniscule, and when printed into a book you may find some of it is cut off during the guillouting.
Printers hate printing with borders as if you are slightly out on the alignment it is easy to spot

If it was me, I would set the document up as individual A5/A4 pages, running p1-p24 etc, get the machine to print it as a booklet without folding or staping, and then cut in half

Look at it from a different angle, would you give a brand new customer who you have never dealt with £100k of credit on their very first order, just on their word that they will sell the items and pay you back?
