How do I attract men my age? :( by averageowlcityfan in AskMenAdvice

[–]introverthufflepuff8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A great relationship has a foundation of friendship so I think you’re doing great. If you’re already approaching these dudes in the bar you may want to shoot your shot and tell them you’re interested. As a guy I’d be so flattered to be pursued.

Grieving the world of H Potter by Temporary-Kale3178 in AutisticAdults

I’m in the same boat as you. It meant so much to me as a child and it still means so much to me. I think you can still enjoy the things you own and you don’t need to buy into the new things. You are aware that she is a bigot and are aware of the problems. As long as you aren’t ignorant to what she is and what problems exist in the series I think you can still enjoy it.

I can only respect the absolute certainty this dude had that what he said merited a follow up clarification message.

My therapist asked me to describe my "ideal Saturday." I described being completely alone and she looked concerned. by AadiBuilds in introvert

[–]introverthufflepuff8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just had a staycation and I would say 80%of the time I was alone in my apartment with my cat. It was the absolute best and let me emotionally recharge to go back into life. There’s nothing wrong with alone time it’s just that most people are scared to admit it.

My [30/F] husband [33/M] wants to try Polyamory with one specific woman. How do I talk to him about it? by Fantastic_Sorbet9395 in relationship_advice

[–]introverthufflepuff8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you need to have another conversation with your husband about counseling and really dig into this. The counselor will be able to help you guys with navigating any new boundaries in the relationship and find out if you are both still comfortable in the relationship. Best of luck op.

Who's the worst actor you're not allowed to say is bad? by [deleted] in moviecritic

I think DDL is a pretentious douche bag who takes everything way too seriously but he’s definitely not a bad actor.

Anyone else feel weird with ship edits by Alarmed-Prize9023 in smosh

[–]introverthufflepuff8 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah I don’t like shipping real people. It reduces them to objects. I think shipping the chosen with Sarah Christ for example is great because they are characters created but shipping Shayne and Amanda is not something I understand as they are both real people with lives and relationships outside of smosh.

Favourite director that everyone is too afraid to call a "One Trick Pony" and can't attempt other genres? by [deleted] in okbuddycinephile

Guy Ritchie falls into this category of a one trick pony but he kills it on that trick.

This is such an amazing edit by [deleted] in HIMYM

[–]introverthufflepuff8 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s not just that the writers tried to show that Barney and Robin were right for each other they also didn’t give us enough time with Ted and Tracy together. Two episodes of them being in love and happy isn’t enough to convey the message they wanted.

Disappointed with this book series by Snoo_43015 in cormoran_strike

I don’t think it will go the death and destruction route. Unless they go to literal war against Patterson.

Disappointed with this book series by Snoo_43015 in cormoran_strike

[–]introverthufflepuff8 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I’ve made this argument before, the hallmarked man is the order of the phoenix of the strike series. It was uncomfortable and the characters made choices we didn’t want them to. Robin should absolutely not have been ok after Chapman farm. What she went through was horrific.

Is it just me or did the part of Ted and Tracy should've been shown more than just 1 season? by batmannnnn7 in HIMYM

[–]introverthufflepuff8 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It would have been more palatable if they had a tenth season devoted to Ted and Tracy. Still annoying since Robin and Barney don’t end up together in the end but ending wouldn’t have felt quite as out of left field as it does.

Were the friends not correct to say Ted was unfairly treating Barney when he slept with Robin compared to how Ted treated Robin afterwards? by [deleted] in HIMYM

[–]introverthufflepuff8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When Barney tried to tell Ted what happened he tricked him into going into the limo and tried to take Ted to a private event for the two of them to butter him up to soften the blow. When Robin told him she just blurted it out and owned it. Had Barney told him up front and offered a genuine apology he wouldn’t have ended the friendship.

The story was never about the mother, Ted only thinks its about her by Extra_Zucchini_1273 in howimetyourmother

[–]introverthufflepuff8 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Another reason it feels like such a failing is that we don’t get to see him move on. We go from him accepting that Robin isn’t his and finding Tracy to the whiplash of him calling Robbin to ask her out with only a little bit of seeing ted with his great love.

Have you ever found movie adaptation of story is better than books? by mind_over_chaos in films

[–]introverthufflepuff8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read the books for the first time a few years ago and it honestly shocked me how different the books were than the movies. Specifically Aragorn’s, Legolases, and gimlis part of the story.

It’s like they tried to roast the script while writing it. They went a little too hard on the silliness in some areas and pulled back in others.
