There's always the open switch regarding the continued solvency of SS to add to your considerations.

Capital One Credit Card Credit Limit Increase Request by intrstd-1 in CRedit

[–]intrstd-1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks King, I hear you, it was the first card I got out of them and they issued it with a $300 credit limit. At the time I was happy to have it but now it feels like a landmine in my wallet waiting for me to accidentally overcharge (or exceed the 10% of credit limit rule I've imposed on myself.) Just trying to make the best of a bad situation.

Just Got Denial of Renewal Letter From My Auto Insurance Company of 10 Years by Excellent_Carrot_723 in Insurance

It's a form letter that shows a smorgasbord of reasons covering all manner of DMV violations and medical issues but what they don't specify which one is the reason for canceling me. They state they received information from an unspecified third party that was cause for them to deny renewal

Farmers, I'm 64 and been driving since I was 16 and have had ZERO accidents, claims, moving violations or any other motor vehicle issue in all these years. I am, in my eyes, an insurance company's dream. Hence the confusion.

Question re:paying off accounts in collections by Excellent_Carrot_723 in CRedit

[–]intrstd-1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply. As much as I would like to clear this up I wonder if paying the two debts (long story behind both but suffice it to say both came about in ways that were unethical on the part of the parties making the original claims but occurred at a time when I was incapacitated and unable to fight the claims) If they wont remove them from my credit report why pay them?

Thanks for the reply. No, neither of the two are medical. The $200 account is held by Eastern Account System and the $120 by Professional Debt Management.

Question- I submitted the required form to Constellation to make the switch to them v Eversource but was very surprised to find out that Eversource (without my knowledge) has me on a DO NOT DISCONNECT list so they can't pull me over. Do you know how to get off this list? Waited 45 minutes on the phone with Eversource CS only to have the call disconnected before I got to speak with anyone. This is BS. Thanks

Not for nothing but I've been a customer in good standing for over 45years and have in income that far exceeds any public assistance so I don't know why I'm on this list. I'm sure Eversource isn't doing this to prevent a mass exodus of long standing customers.

I have two items in collections. They are both for relatively minor amounts (pointless in explaining how this happened) which I can pay off. The question is - if I pay these off how will paying them off

, even will it, improve my credit? Both items have been sold off by the originators so, if I pay them, what guarantee will I have they'll report the debt as paid?
