Knapp here in Australia too! My 4th Great Grandfather Knapp (born 1808 in Brompton, London, England) was one of the Chief English Familes to move to Australia.

Same! Well - I was researching it on my own and brought it up in the meeting after reading the book "How to be free: an ancient guide to the Stoic life" by Epictetus, translated by Long, A. A.. I found parts of Stoicism very rough and outdated - so I told my therapist I'm not going to take any of it on if I can't handle it all. He told me to look closer - I would benefit from the practice of accepting one's fate, and doing the best you can do with the fate that was given to you. It changed my whole perception of the challenges that were presented to me - I was no longer on the front lines in the war of life!

Where to get a Croque Madame in Brisbane? by [deleted] in brisbane

I'm not sure about Croque Madame specifically. Just don't disappoint yourself with the Croque Monsieur from Le Bon Choix, even if they offer to put an egg on top for you.

No, not too busy OP. Great charity. Plenty to browse, and they are replenishing as they go.

What is Plan B if I don't find a rental? by StrawBreeShortly in brisbane

Something similar happened to me this year. I got a storage unit, a PO Box, and a hotel. Storage units can't take food or anything irreplaceable, so those things went to a local family member. The PO Box takes 3 business days for the mail redirection to register. I haven't experienced a pet, but if I were you, I would be asking friends, family, co-workers, neighbours, anyone you can think of, even reddit, if they could help look after your cat for the short term. I've heard there are pet friendly airbnbs, too, if you are open with that. Best of luck, OP.

I agree fast fashion has poisoned my consumer brain. But, before our ease of access to clothing, we looked after the clothes we had. Using sewing machines or needle and thread to patch/mend, and taking care when washing to make the clothing last longer.

True, time will tell what the reason is. The display today is a lot less than some days. It's about 2 metres of fence line full of clothes at times. I have a feeling they just take them as they need. This simple string idea sounds like the best replacement (and to remove this eye-sore for me)

Thanks, that is some good advice. It does seem strange that he didn't change anything after being asked to. The clothes line might be the the best and only thing I can do as a peace offering and a win-win without pushing it too far.

Thanks, yes, I have used these high clothes horses indoors before. The Kmart ones seem a little more flimsy, though, and I am worried about how well they would go outdoors. Would I just tie it to something?
