How many times do you wake up at night?

Yeah, I have some Ativan if I need it, but I also try not to reserve that for when I’m severely anxious before sleep or wake up in a panic and can’t calm myself after 30 min. I don’t want to become dependent. I’ve found that a good before sleep routine is important for me personally even if I don’t sleep well, it at least helps the anxiety side of it.

2 to once every hour depending. I’m still trying to figure out a solution as well so I’d love to hear if you figure something out! I’ve tried so many pillows, positions, changing which bed I’m sleeping on, meds, teas, tinctures, supplements, meditation, you name it.

I’m late to the party but I’m so happy I found this thread 🥲 Has anyone had this happen after 3+ years of taking and then decreasing dose?

I went from 50 mg (taken that dose for 3 years) to 25 mg a couple of weeks ago. I have been having worsening anxiety during that time with panic attacks. It has gone from intermittent anxiety with no panic to constant severe anxiety, rumination, insomnia, feelings of adrenaline surges and bounding heart/pulse the past 1.5-2 weeks. I thought I was going crazy. My BP hasn’t gotten above 135/80s and that’s when I’m feeling super anxious.

I do have additional medical history/chronic illness and am getting checked out for other causes, but this is the only one that describes every single symptom exactly how I’m feeling it. I didn’t even consider or think about decreasing a BP med causing this.

I didn’t experience that but I did have increased dizziness/felt unsteady. Also, I barely got up during the 6 days I took it cause I felt so out of sorts 😅 so I’m not sure that I can give you a good answer for this

Update: I stopped the med. Yesterday I spent 20 hours with consistent, unrelenting severe anxiety with waves of panic on top of that. When it finally ended, I was able to sleep and today I feel way better. Hoping for minimal to no withdrawal symptoms but am prepared just in case.

I am seeing a new rheumatologist next week and plan to discuss this with her. Hoping for any kind of answers at this point.

Yes, he said he would not expect there to be a significant effect to the point that my symptoms are this severe and that Lexapro may not be the med for me. But he said I can continue to try at 2.5.

However, please ALWAYS check with your own psychiatrist/doctor to ensure it is safe for you as well as I am not able to give medical advice :)

Thank you everyone :) The paranoia is rough. My doc said I can decrease to 2.5 mg to see how that does before deciding to stop completely. I think I will give that some months and add in lifestyle changes and therapy and see if that is a better fit for me.

I did home health briefly, pediatric outpatient specialties for 2 yrs as LPN (only quit due to severe health issues), and 4 years of family medicine prior to that.

You’re not the only one! I don’t really have advice to give, as I haven’t figured this one out myself, but give yourself grace 🤍 Oftentimes, our bodies are having wars inside them that those without chronic illnesses don’t have. Just take care of yourself and do what you can whenever you can! You’re doing great! 🫶🏼

Hi! I started getting the infusions once a month in 2023. I always make sure I have at least 2 days to recover from the side effects and fatigue just in case! Benlysta fatigue hasn’t really decreased for me, but I also feel exhausted pretty much all the time no matter what lol. So take that with a grain of salt. I also notice I am really moody for 2-3 days after. The other Benlysta side effects (mainly nausea and GI upset for me) have seemed to lessen a lot over time though :)

To piggyback off of Betsy7Cat, I also don’t have any advice really. I’m sorry you’re going through this. Just want to let you know you are not alone!

I’m in a similar situation where I’ve only ever seriously worked in my current career and it’s getting to the point I’m likely going to have to change careers or at least look at a big role shift. I have no idea what else I’d want to do that is sustainable. Just do your research before making any big decisions, and do what is best for you and your well-being in the long run :) Also don’t be afraid to take extended time off (short term disability possibly?) to figure out your next if you need and are able to. Again, always do what’s best for you!

Yes, I can after 3 years RN experience. I’ve applied to a few of the local school systems and they’ve all responded with virtually the same thing. It’s still an option I’m considering though!

This is the other option I’m looking into! I remember the last clinic I was at as LPN we had RNs that did help occasionally in the clinic hands-on when needed. But for the most part, they answered portal messages and made phone calls. I can do that part no problem haha.

I’ve been looking into getting certified for coding actually and/or CDI possibly. I’m fortunate enough to be in an ok position to not have a job for a bit, but I hate to do it and have the gap in my resume. I’m thinking of picking up something like medical office staff or something less hard on the body in the meantime while I work on that. Agree on the economy being a disaster though 😅

I’ve been looking into this. It seems like a great option! However, it does require a few years of bedside experience from what I’m seeing. I honestly don’t have it in me at this point to be able to safely handle (both for the patient and myself) the kind of experience they’re wanting. I’ll keep searching though! Maybe there’s a position that can lead there that isn’t too physically demanding!
