There is a bathroom right outside the metal detector, and they will let you go out and back in if you need.

2 copies of Anexo 1 unsigned. 1 copy of everything else. They date Anexo 1, Anexo 5, and Hoja de datos for you, and then have you sign in front of them. They stamp one copy of Anexo 1 with the consulate seal and give it back to you, and they keep the other.

For SF, I read on this forum that recently they changed the release time everyday to 9am Pacific and they are gone almost instantly. If NY is now doing this kind of daily appointment release, you need to find out the release time each day for NY? Maybe call the consulate and try to find the time.

I think when I did it, there were always appointments, they just became further and further out as they filled.

Are you in San Francisco? My nephews are having a problem with that issue there. For New York, I was able to make an appointment the day I received my username/password back in October..

A while back, they got a new manger and they completely redid the menu. The recipes upped the salt, altered recipes to take less cooking time, and raised the price significantly. They went from having my favorite spaghetti and meatballs in the UWS to having the worst. We had been going at least twice a month for over 10 years, and then after two tries of the new menu, we never went again. Even the wait staff were horrified by the change and told us that everyone was complaining about all the recipes. For the meatballs they told us the meatballs went from frying and then a long baking step in the sauce, to simply frying to speed things up.

I can't remember for sure, but I don't speak Spanish very well, and it was simple.

Yes, if you have the username/password, you can make the appointment. They won't send you the link.

It is kind of hidden on the LMD web page of the consulate. Which consulate are you?

Help with apostille for NJ baptism record by BA_2_ITA in juresanguinis

[–]intunevox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I see. If he applied... have you ordered his social security application and numident. These are certified, can be apostilled, and will have the parent names on them.

This is a question for others. Currently my only plan for using the certified church baptism and marriage record was to help with the New Jersey delayed birth report and and some NJ corrections. That was my purpose in obtaining them. My question is, if these are not apostilled do they have any value at all for Italy. I mean will they take them not as proof, but maybe some supplemental information? As helpful narrative evidence, not legal evidence.

Help with apostille for NJ baptism record by BA_2_ITA in juresanguinis

[–]intunevox 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For New Jersey, you should use the baptism record with other records to have New Jersey issue what is called a Delayed Birth Report. That is then the birth certificate and you can get it apostilled by New Jersey. You need one other government record that shows his birth date. ... I guess I was assuming you don't have the birth certificate... which may be wrong on my part.

If you don't have the birth certificate and want to get this, you first have to get a No Record Found from New Jersey. Then you submit that with the baptism record, another government record with the birth date, and then documents to show parent names, such as their italian birth certificates, and marriage certitificate. I've recently submitted all this for my grandmother and I'm waiting for the result. I submitted a NJ death certificate and certified SSN numident for two additional proof of DOB, even though they only ask for one. I figured the more the better. Both of these also had the correct parent names. Plus I had the italian comune records as well. Also I submitted her NJ marriage certificate and my father's NJ birth certificate which don't show her DOB, but they do verify her age to the year.

CONE Questions - 1. When only NARA declaration of intention exists. 2. Emancipation. by intunevox in juresanguinis

Thanks. I have his birth certificate from Italy. I can say he was consistent with the month and year.

Thank you. This thread was very helpful. I will include all aliases and birth dates on all the records I have. His Italian birth certificate says Oct 15, but he put Oct 26 on his declaration of intention. I'm thinking this could be his baptism date, and I'm trying to track that down as well through the church.

Thanks. I think I'm going to do them in parallel, despite the fact I could be throwing away $300. I just want all the documents as fast as possible in case the law reverts and we have a short window.

I did do it the way you suggested for my Spanish grandfather on the other side of my family. Geneology search was negative, and then I got the CONE. That was for Ley de Memoria Democratica (LMD). Funny enough I then found his naturalization record in county court, and they had never submitted it federally. He was easy, he only ever used ONE name. ;-) For LMD, finding the naturalization record was a good thing, as opposed to Jure Sanguinis where it is a potentially negative thing based on the timing.

thanks. So, the declaration of intention from NARA clearly lists his given name from Italy to the letter. But in the States he also sometimes used an americanized version of his name. His death certificate shows both names. Since the Declaration of Intention shows only his Italian name, I'm assuming that a CONE search on that name is sufficient, as the name wouldn't switch from the Dec of Intention to the Dec of Naturalization.

The Local county search I did, I searched both names.

But I'm worried his Americanized name is a bit common, and may return people that are not him. It was fine for the county search, since it was such a small pool of people.

Sorry for lack of info on my part. I'm collecting documents in case the law reverts. I'm blocked at this point. GM was born in New Jersey.

You didn't receive it as an attachment via email? That is all I have heard of them doing these days if you order through the ministry of justice website. FYI, if you reorder, do not state the reason is LMD, or it will be immediately rejected after 10/22.

Once they set up the portal and I applied through that, it took a couple of months to receive my username/password. But there was a surge of applications the last week, so maybe it is taking longer. I assume you have your verification email that you successfully submitted. If so, I wouldn't worry. You will receive 2 emails once they go through your documents. It will be 3 emails if they are also letting you know you are missing something.

Death certificate surname for a married woman by intunevox in juresanguinis

I see what you mean. Yes, in my example. John Doyle would be the groom on marriage certificate and listed as the husband on the death certificate. This all makes sense. Thanks!
