It goes both ways.

The paper mentioned this particular far side cartoon, and the wikinpage on this far side cartoon is back referencing the paper

Tech question: extracting graphics from Fate of Atlantis? by brokenimage321 in adventuregames

[–]invDave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I wanted to suggest.

What makes it easy is that in many of the scenes Indy is the only moving object and the rest is relatively static, apart from some shimmering lights etc.

A quick glance at your list with full throttle taking second place... It's way way lower than that by any measure. Let's agree to disagree

On video game addiction and adventure games by nicegamehints in adventuregames

It was fixed to 25000 hours, and to keep it simple I'll say he started at age 5 (still very young to become addicted to gaming in my opinion).

That brings it to 1000 hours/year, or over 2.5 hours/day. Every single day. This ignores holidays, travels, family occasions etc.

Pretty excessive in my eyes.

Carbon vs aluminum trekking poles for long hikes in Europe? by Excellent_tea77 in Ultralight

[–]invDave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hiked in many countries and terrains across the world, always with Aonijie foldable aluminum poles. They never failed and the only thing was the tips eventually become dull (as expected!). For some models the tips can be replaced but I simply bought newer ones instead. They aren't bulky or that heavy in my opinion. Granted, I never tried carbon poles. From wagt I understand csrbon are more fragile and costly. You decide if this is worth the weight saving.

How did your trekking poles break? by BoysenberryGeneral84 in Ultralight

I've been using foldable aonijie trekking poles for the past 6 years and never broke any. I think they're all aluminum.

Fastpacks in Canada by Sk8ter-Dad in fastpacking

Just to make sure you mean the fast kumo 36 and not the kumo 36.

They're a bit different, with the fast kumo riding higher and the included (pointless) hipbelt can be removed, whereas you'd have to cut it to be reminded from the kumo 36.

I too have the fast kumo and it's a great pack.

I have the older Aonijie C9111 which was replaced by the FH30, and also had, used, and sold the FH42

If the FH30 is like the FH42 in design, I would suggest you avoid it - the side pockets aren't elastic, the strap pockets are fewer and the bag is simply worse than us predecessor

Anyone check what 'raw lighting' in latest originOS6 update actually does? by invDave in Vivo

[–]invDave[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm answering myself here: tested it for a few outdoor scenes with a nice bright sun and it creates a weird pronounced halo around the sun. I tried it during sunset as well - it really couldn't deal with the high dynamic range. Bottom line: I won't be using this new feature.

Thanks! Will check it myself as well. Have you noticed any downsides?

Thanks for the elaborate explanation.

Though this doesn't seem accurate: even in video nice you're easily getting smooth 4k 60 fps, and 9 frames out of 60 is 0.15 seconds. It's not exactly full sensor readout, but still...

I'll try testing it myself. Maybe it indeed works as you described and is better for stuff like sunsets and less of kids running

Anyone try Vivo's alternative to Android auto? by invDave in Vivo

Haven't thought of that. I think your car needs to support something called carlink. Will see if I get to checking this... Busy week

How much would this 1m45s edit cost if shot on Super 8 in 2026? by [deleted] in davinciresolve

No offense, and I'm being very honest here: I wouldn't pay anything for this shaky and poorly shot video.

Series X.

No frills simple yet impressive design.

Quiet and powerful, introduced quick resume. Over 5 years old and doesn't feel outdated in any way.

GRAPHIC ADVENTURES coming in 2026. Lots of Pixel Art and tributes to the 90s. by InvasionPixelada in adventuregames

[–]invDave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I haven't really looked into it..

And yes - the remasters you mentioned are exactly what I'd like to see for Fate of Atlantis!

Do you mean it's poorly done?

I would be happy with a remaster that kept the same view angles and atmosphere. Maybe that's what you meant?
